High end PC Low Fps

I run MSFS on 4k custom settings (Integration of high and medium), and I manage to get 25-30 fps at 30,000 feet. I am not able to load into the custom gatwick airport, and I feel like my build is underperforming GPU 99% CPU16%.

Here are my specs:
GPU:AMD Radeon RX5700
CPU: AMD RYZEN 3700Z 8-core processor
RAM: 16GB
MotherBoard: Tuf Gaming x570-Plus

Are there any settings that could enhance the performance?

Since you’re GPU bound, try to reduce some settings like the Clouds etc.
Hard to tell which setting best to tweak since you don’t provide your setup.

The RX5700 might not be best suited for 4K. Maybe reducing render scaling to 80% might help as well.

Thanks. I am a bit confused. I did show my setup.

Like @Coppersens said, try reducing your render scale to 80% and see if that helps. The RX5700 isn’t exactly a powerhouse 4K GPU. You may be asking too much of it.

I have never ventured into the world of overclocking. Should I look into it?

But not your settings. You can’t do much about your setup, which is why adjusting settings might help. But without knowing what you currently use, there is no way for us to suggest anything.

Perhaps you should just try what was recommended first and see if that helps. Unless you really know what you’re doing, I wouldn’t recommend overclocking.

Ah ok, Thanks

BTW - I run a RTX2080 on a Ryzen 2700X. I only get about 30 fps on any plane wiht glass cockpit running at 3440 x 1440. The only way I can get more is running the C152 with all analog gauges.

Your main culprit is going to be the 4k, that’s a lot of pixels to push through the pipeline.

As for overclocking, you really want to have purpose built your PC or at least gone on the high side of cooling and it really wont garner much.

Thanks. May I ask if your using high/ultra?

I use a mix of mostly Ultra. A few less important settings are at high and medium.

would 1440 suffice?

You’ll end up turning up some eye candy @ 1440

Don’t change your resolution. Reduce your render scale. It does the same thing as reducing resolution without messing up your graphics quality.

Seriously, try out what’s been suggested before offering up a ton of alternate potential solutions. If what was suggested doesn’t work, then consider something else.

I say to that, meh.

It seems so much more crisp and responsive running native IMHO.

Also, if you dont get it just right you end up with a wide body Cessna.

They’re talking about the render scaling slider in your MSFS Graphics settings (slide that to 80%). You don’ tneed to worry about aspect ratios at all.

Correct. I’m really confused as to @Salem978 's comment. That makes absolutely no sense unless you’re switching to a resolution that doesn’t match the display’s aspect ratio. And that’s most definitely NOT what render scaling does.

What render scaling do you suggest?

Ah true that, however I still prefer to tell my video card out of the gate here’s our scale rather than tell software to do it later.
