What on earth is wrong with the H125 in ground effect? The hoist certification mission is the most frustrating, infuriating aggravating and useless certification i have ever experienced. I can land next to this guy. One foot too low and the rescue guy drags on the ground like a fool. one foot too high and hes a piñata. in between the helicopter is actively refusing to sit still. Why you chose the only helicopter that hates ground effect for a ground effect hold mission is beyond me. but until this is fixed, im not touching any of the hoist stuff if this is what its like. I can hover. its not a skill issue. This bird is not ok and its the closest ive come to throwing something in a long time. this sucks guys. whats 30 feet? how do we know? no radar alt? no calls from the guy in the back, just a helo sitting on a bubble of air trying to get out and making me hate the fact i have 200’ of hoist cable and cant use it. i guess ill just take my rescue guy for a drag, because apparently his LEGS DONT WORK AND HE CANT WALK TO THE GUY JUST STANDING THERE. I’ve come back to this qual for a week, lost my cool after an hour of futility, then went off to practice. its nonsense. between this and the autopilot failing my medevac missions because bank limit refuses to work or hypoxia killing my crew because you released pressurized planes without O2, im starting to seriously wonder if you play your own games.
Maybe related to this bug:
There is a Radar Altimeter in the H125, its a little lower and to the left of the cyclic.
I’ve reported the issue of the guy hanging from the hoist being mostly just a dangling potato, below:

All issues caused by or involving third-party addons/mods should be reported to the third-party developer. Assure that no addons/mods are used when reporting issues in Bug Reports.
thanks, ill go practice more with it. ive found turning sim speed down one notch helps. its cheaty, but this thing hates me.
It is very possible, but also very hard.
Not only the certification, but also all missions need to be exactly on point both lateral and vertical (as is the case in the real world.) The problem is that we don’t have any call-outs by crew or any mirrors, making it quite impossible to know where to exactly hover.
It’s the only type of mission I need to enable the cyclic assist. Apparently I’m not good enough of a pilot yet
It is hard but certainly not impossible. I do it with assists but not without a cheat. I use the HUD. It draws a circle on the compass display. Stay over that and you’re golden.
Certainly in VR, which normally helps when flying helicopters, spotting the surface of the ocean is a real challenge. Maybe the prop-wash on the water should be done, or even emphasized, as it is really tough to judge altitude without a visible point of reference.
I’ll give the radar altimeter a try on my next go though, as I hadn’t noticed that.
i had not considered assists. thanks
I passed easily using the assists. thank you.
