Honeycomb Bravo Axis Problem

My system is thus: Logitech X-56 HOTAS, Logitech Rudder pedals, Bravo quadrant, X-Box controller, 3 TM Cougar MFDs, Razer Orb Weaver, Track IR.

Have had the Bravo since March, and everything was working fine. Then last night, I sat in the X Cub and started it up for a bush trip. Bravo set-up (from the Trim Wheel right) is: Lever 1 - Throttle, Lever 2 - Prop, Lever 3 - Mixture. Throttle set to idle, Prop set to full (forward), Mixture set full rich (forward). Started the engine, went to taxi…

Pushed the throttle forward a crack, and the engine jumped to 50%. Right into the side of the nearest hangar. Long story short - both Lever 1 and 2 (with no dead zones or sensitivity settings) jump from 0% to 50% after about a 1/4-inch movement. I have moved the throttle to every lever on the Bravo, and only the 1st two have no bottom end. The 1st two are smooth from 50% to 100% both up and down, but the only way they work from 50%.

I’m thinking the Bravo is broken, but maybe one of you out there has had the same problem and fixed it.

If you go into the controls setup section and then select your Bravo and sensitivity (on the left hand side). When you move those axis are they showing the same jump?

You can also re-calibrate within Windows.

I have had HC-BTQ since December, and I mount it and unmount it often from it’s base. I think something has changed your sensitivites in the unit. Try reclabrating those two levers. After Su5, lots of things got broken, in addition to the things that were still broken, so I removed MSFS off PC. Going to wait for 6 months and see if it’s better. Regardless, sometimes the HC software fights the MSFS software, so try recalbration and then if that don’t work, call HC and talk to support.

Well, as I thought I had done everything, I almost ignored the Windows calibration. BUT - I went back and tested the two axes again in FS - only 1 & 2 jumped 50%. So I launched the Win calibration, and before I did anything, I checked all 6 axes…once again, only 1 & 2 jumped. So I went through the cal, and while I was doing it, the levers worked, but when I saved it, they were screwed again.

Okay, so I’m 75 years old and the ol’ gray matter is losing a bit, but this time I decided to click on the Reset to Defaults (in Windows)! Well, whaddaya know - the 2 errant levers jumped right back into normal operation. To test the theory, I re-cal’d the old way and the problem was back, so it seems that, with the Bravo, Windows has to reset the unit to Default, and then leave it the hell alone and go back to FS to git 'er done the right way!

Thanks, fellas! I owe ya all a beer! Got some Michelob in the fridge!

Awesome!

Glad it worked out for you.

A solution was found, and as the bug does not seem MSFS related, the topic was closed.
