That worked. Definitelity wasn’t an obvious fix, but glad you replied.
Yes, I have the same issue and also the virtual cockpit does not show up. I guess that is, because the native MSFS 2020 Asobo B787 (which is needed for the 787-9 running in MSFS 2024 is not creator approved anymore for those of us who have the B787-10 “Working Title” installed in MSFS 2020 (Apparently there is a conflict between the 2024 streamed version and the 2020 installed version.) Go check the “creator approved” status of the MSFS 2020 B787-10 in your library in the Market Place.
It seems Horizon has overseen this fact.
I don’t believe that is correct. I simply went to My Library, searched for “787” then re-enabled the MSFS2020 version, which automatically disabled the FS’24 version.
Do you have the Horizon livery pack installed? If not, that may be your issue.
I just have disabled the MSFS 2024 streamed Working title version of the B787-10 via the MarketPlace/My Library and voila the correct textures and the VC of the B787-9 immediately showed up, without any restart of the sim necessary.
Anyone gotten a CTD in 2020 with the 789 when changing the cost index during cruise? Just happened here.
Dear all,
I am wondering, why does the standard 787 in MSFS 2024 have a cabin, but the Horizon Simulations 787 does not have a cabin?
Why would Horizon create a better 787, but then remove the cabin?
Does somebody know why this is? Or is there an option to keep the cabin with the Horizon Simulation 787 perhaps?
Greetings,
Boudewijn Nijssen
The Horizon is built on the 2020 version of the 787 - and this is the version you need to have installed (in 2024) to make Horizon work in 2024. That version does not (and never had) a cabin.
The native 2024 version (which will be disabled once you enable the 2020 version in your library) does have a cabin.
There is no way to modify 2024 planes, and to my knowledge that’s one of the reasons the Horizon cannot work with/use the 2024 version of the 787
Dear CptnDoppie,
Thanks, for your awnser. That clarifies it for me.
Greetings,
Boudewijn Nijssen
Is Horizon Sim planning to add an EFB tablet to the 787-9/-8? The ability to view my flight plan in the aircraft is a huge plus for me, and also to have quick access to charts, doors, etc.
I’m also still encountering the hard nose-up and tailstrike on takeoff after the plane keeps it forced down until 190 knots. I thought this was addressed previously, so why am I still encountering this? I’m on the latest update. These are the only two reasons I rarely take the 787-9 out. The -8 works fine on rotation though. I also miss the CPDLC capabilities in the 787-8, which the 787-9 has.
I am a big 787 fan but I was hoping somebody could reply with a step by step of the procedures needed to install this ?over the Asobo 787-10. I note that looks like I have the 787-8 from 2020. Looks like I have to get an installer from Headwinds… love a step by step…
BTW there are now some liveries for the 787 in the Marketplace… they say 8 but in reality most are “Star Alliance” but the Air France looks nice. No United.
Pretty but seems to have a funny effect on VRAM… like loads it.
Horizon has already done this, join their Discord.
" Don’t forget, if you’re using our B787-9 on MSFS2024 you need to install the MSFS2020 B787-10 via: Marketplace → My Library → Search for “787” → Click the “MSFS 2020 Premium” or “MSFS 2020 Premium Deluxe Upgrade” → Then Click Enable"
Yes, it’s in the works.
You already have access to doors through the one that is there.
As for tail strikes are you setting the weights and balances correctly and adjusting STAB trim?
I currently have 626.4 hours in the 789 with 1 tail strike when I was learning to fly it.
Awesome!
Do they plan to add functionality for all doors on the 787?
Yes, I’m setting the weights according to the SimBrief data, trimming appropriately, and still no positive results.
I rarely fly the 787-9 even though I would love to more often, only because of this tailstrike behavior.
Thanks, working on this. This one is very nice for the but also loves VRAM:
For BravoAirspace based on 2020. Will look up the Horizon one. Learning process.
Well, I have the Horizon Sim working.
I am very happy to see the wing camber but not as strong it seems in the prior version:
I generally like the simulation but have an important question: Does VNAV work (before I start debugging). I normally have a planned descent and it does not pick it up even with the target altitudes in the flight plan.
The 2020 787-10 flys itself off the runway at 15 DEG flap but this one is set to 5 DEG default and hugs the runway… minor issue.
I am happy to see that the liveries do not affect VRAM much.
The 2024 787 had a nice upgrade of the AP and Nav Display to show profiles… so this one is behind on that… maybe the developers will take note… any ideas on how to contact them?
All in all a nice job!
VNWAV works without issue in 2020 (I haven’t tried in 2024).
Your takeoff flaps aren’t “set” they are based on runway length, weather, load, etc… 5 is standard, but I’ve been given 10 and 15 based on the above factors.
After a couple days I came back to the Asobo 787. I do complex IFR and I just had trouble with their AP and the flight plans. The Asobo 2024 787-10 AP seems to have been updated and works quite well with an updated Nav Display that shows route in profile.
Huh, no problems with the BravoAirspace 787-9 for me thus far…
It is the autopilot that killed me. I do mostly complex IFR and just could not fly my plans… especially with SimBrief.
I realize that i was just complaining about the AP in SU3 Beta in the Asobo and went back to SU2 and it worked fine.
I better try the Horizon -9 in SU2. If I can remember how to install…
So I went back and in the 787-9 half of the Steps on a standard arrival into SFO ARCHI are not there. Looks like it has a max of 3 steps. This one has around 6. Anyway, it is THE arrival into SFO. I did this with the MS Flight Planner. Looks to be like the free version of Simbrief makes it hard/impossible to make a simple STAR to ILS approach… upsell?
