Horrible stuttering, FPS drops at airports, during landing, / BETA 2 (1.4.14.0)

Rebar has never been enabled on my system (GPU-Z reports it as available but disabled) and I still have the stuttering - I suspect this is not the cause.

GUYS IT WORKED!

At first WOW. I hope this helps you all too.

So what i did to fix fps drops and stuttering? :round_pushpin:

  1. Turned off REBAR
  2. Increased space of rolling cache to 400gb (i know, its seems to be crazy)
  3. LOCKED FPS! :double_exclamation_mark:

Okay so I figured that the “lock fps” is a gamechanger! For real that simple settings makes my sim smooth as butter, i was not belivie that this can help, but it really does.
So i locked my fps to “40” (ig this is my sweetpoint), after that my vram ussage drop down (which is great) Without this option i still had fps drops and stuttering, so if you have same troublle just try it by yoursefl.
I am not sure if increasing space of rolling cache or disabling REBAR has any impact for stability, but you can try it.
At the and i want to thanks all of you for help. My satisfaction when i land as smooth as butter was pretty huge and i was not bellive what actually happend. Let me know if it also works for you.

I hope this will be helpful also for you!

Best regards, Alan :airplane:

On one day it works and on the other day you have these stutters back :man_shrugging:t3:

Yes, they are totally random. One day I can land at busy Heathrow with no stutters, next day I fly to some remote place in Africa where the airport is made of 5 objects and the stutters are unbearable.

Try high preset, leave anistropic filtering at 8 tlod and olod at 100, tex. res at med.
Vsync on in NVIDIA app, zoomlevel in simsetting and fsrealistic at 35.

Vsync off ingame, latency off, use TAA 100% in 4K. 9800x3d, rtx 5080, 64 gb ram. Actually hags off, rbar enabled. Rolling Cache at 512 gb.

helped me a lot. Nearly smooth landings at bigger airports with fenix or C-Titan f. expl.

EDIT: still stutters at EDDH sim wings

I can understand that the settings you list would be smooth. But really, your hardware is essentially as good as you can get at the moment and the settings you describe are quite frankly poor. There is no way on earth that it should be necessary to hobble a fantastic system like yours - which is way in excess of the stated “Ideal spec” - to get OK performance.

You have an older FSR 3.1 (DX12) file. Update that in the swapper.

Sad but true.. hopefully they get it fixed.

Happens to me too at any large airport. Especially the “premium” Asobo ones.

4080
7800x3d
64GB
SU1 & drivers up to date.

I can easily pull 80FPS during takeoff and cruise but then at around 200’ on landing the sim freezes, I crash into the ground, and from there on I get 5-10fps especially when moving the camera.

Such a shame

Right changed already!

Deleting the Nvidia shader cache fixed this issue for me.

Yep this worked. Along with updating DLSS version in the swapper. Now I’m getting 90fps where I was previously getting 5-10fps. Crazy! Thank you

Edit: after just 2 flights it is back to stuttering like crazy at any busy airport (Asobo DFW in my case)

Overall with my RTX 5080 and DLSS4 , FG 2x with TAA/DLSS/DLAA on 60 hz 4K Monitor, settings like that iam not overshoot the 15000GB Vram, with RC on 512GB, i solved my stutters nearly everywhre and on final/aproach.

BTW the new PMDG 777 is a masterpiece overall and in performance!!

Disabling resizable bar did not help. It seems to me, the most important triggering factor is length of thew flight. After a long VFR flight from LICR to LIRN (not exactly a high detail airport) during rollout the framerate was quite low in the 10s.

At Asobo DFW I had the same issue. Something crazy ist going on with this airport. The fps counter in dev mode showed that the CPU was completely overloaded. I think that some default airports must have features that break SU2 MSFS2024.

What one are you using?

Hey everyone
I just disable my fsrealistic in msfs2024 and I surprised to find a performance increased especially during take off rotating and landing.
I can’t say it totally fix my stutters in landing but it really be much better than before.

Even after updating drivers this is still happening. Reverting back to SU1

I fairly routinely get some stuttering as I approach EGLL (Heathrow - default), and in one recent flight I got significantly reduced FPS - dropped from 60 down to 30-40, with heavy GPU utilisation. The stuttering seems fairly common, but its not particularly bad and no big deal to me. The significantly reduced FPS seems to be a more random phenomenon to me as it happens occasionally and I haven’t been able to spot any repeated action which triggers it, its a bit more irritating but not the end of the world for me. I see this behaviour flying the Extra 330 and Bonanza G36.
i9-10900K, 64GB RAM (DDR4), 5080, m2SSD, 1Gbps internet. 4K, mostly on Ultra running TAA and Frame Gen

I’m running a maxed out Falcon gaming computer (AMD and Nvidia) and have been noticing the same thing during approach and just before touchdown. Otherwise, flight is smooth without judder. I’ve been flying the Beechcraft G58 Barron in msft 2020. This appears to have begun following the latest update, in addition, popout manager—I run Realsimgear G1000Nxi panels— no longer boots with flight sim 2020 startup.
