There are same name FS24 ones, do not disable them. Game bug, if you see them also, i checked they can be deleted without crashes at start. Check for double entries on your content.xml file.
to be honest, i only find the FS20 ones in my content.xml. I have the feeling that MSFS2024 just uses the legacy MSFS2020 POIs and that there would be no duplicates. Could you elaborate where there the MSFS24 POI content is supposed to be found?
I will check when i feel ok My Library ingame, they were always there for me after joining SU3beta, downloading everything and leaving back to SU2.
edit: They are not inside Official2020, Official2024, StreamedPackages folders at all. They are not inside SceneryIndexes and no .dat files created for them. They are not in the My Library also. So i have no idea how they appeared for me when i was on SU3Beta. I will delete those entries to see if they are coming back. Maybe they are streamed but not showing up in My Library? Oh well. My apologies.
edit2: They are not listed on other content.xml file dated may 22th at LocalCache/DrewmorKuzy/Content.xml . I am MS store and content.xml file the one which is active for me is located at LocalCache/content.xml . I am lost.
Many thanks. I will certainly try, I also have an M2, and I’m not reinstall windows etc! So more than happy to try this. If it was this that did it then great. If it was reinstalling windows, then ill have to consider it, but i really don’t want to do that!
SU3: So I disabled all 2020 POIs in the content.xml file. When I entered the sim, all these entries showed as “streamed”. So I’ll disable them in “my library” instead. Hopefully they’ll still be disabled after I restart the sim.
I disabled 2020 POIs and also heliport scenery and loaded in with the A330-300 at Tokyo Haneda and it actually wasn’t horrible. It’s wasn’t perfect by any stretch of the imagination but it was several orders of magnitude better than before
Xbox series X
Edit: this was with live weather which was absolutely lashing it down with rain so all the more impressive
I’m getting the same landing stutters after having disabled the POIs, no difference really. This is with TLOD 200 on approach to the remote airport of SBTS in the FSR500:
If you’re patient enough and dont mind the immersion killing procedure that i’m about to describe, this might help - but not 100%.
Pause the game near your destination.
Switch to Drone/Showcase view, set drone speed to max, and fly around the airfield, pre-loading assets.
Switch back to cockpit camera and land.
If you’re too far away from the airport, it might load everything again, so this is why not always works.
I found out this method by messing with the replay function. Live landing was stuttery but when replayed, the assets were pre-loaded and therefore, silky smooth.
Either way, its a complete frustration…long flights, just to get smashed on the ground right at the end.
I’ll finally add my complaint.
Using latest Beta running on Ryzen 7 5700X3D 48GB DDR4 4070 Latest drivers. Flying near airports is impossible; that’s 95% of the point of the game right guys?
Nearly six months later and this product is still incomplete. “Enshittification, also known as crapification and platform decay”. Asobo are you listening?
Update to my previous post.
I may have alleviated the disastrous frame drop near airports.
These are the steps I took after researching numerous complaint threads regarding the issue.
Additionally, if you’ve purchased any airport enhancement packages, such as enhanced runway lights, taxiways, or surface textures, download and install these products. Do not stream. This applies to anything related to the airport environment in my opinion.
The stutters are not as pronounced as before, ranging from fatal cardiac arrest to heart palpitations. Sometimes, there are no stutters. If anyone tries any or all of these solutions with success, let us know. To Asobo, the complaint still stands. We’re not on your payroll!
Hopefully this helps with the frustration out there!
I’m curious, as I have the exact same hardware configuration (sans drives + other factors) and don’t see issues like this. What monitor resolution and refresh rate are you running?
I’d like to replicate it with my setup.
The only thing you really need to disable is 3rd party airports, which is the first thing to go if you have stutters. Animals are only an issue if you’re in an area where they are active, and even then it’s more a CPU issue running their “AI” cough. POI’s same, should have no effect unless you’re on top of a highly unoptimized one.
Where did you film this/ICAO?
What plane?
What MSFS settings?
What NVidia control panel settings?
Are you filming on the same system as the game is playing?
What software and recording settings?
It’s not like they’re not warning you, and at the same time asking for your help/data to figure out the issues.
You most certainly are, if you joined the beta. For free, that is. See previous point!
If you don’t want to do that, don’t join! It’s clearly spelt out what beta’s are for.
It’s not an early preview, it’s a test system with all the baggage that goes with using it.
