Just a mention of my specs and happiness level. 1st) My specs. I realized this whole shortage mess back before the Ampere release would happen so I made it a priority to grab a 3000 series GPU early on it was the Asus Tuf 3080 OC($749 USD), I threw in a i9 10900KF, 32GB 3600mhz ram, Z490E MoBo and by just setting the XMP to enable and do the easy mode overclocking in the bios my happiness level went thru the roof. Especially after the last update, France and the low countries. The sim is on Ultra settings with the LOD sliders on 150 on both the terrain and objects. I was so happy that come December, before the US tariff price hikes I picked up a Asus Tuf 3090 OC ($729 USD) in preparation for VR HP reverb goggles, I decided to build another PC so I waited for the Intel 11th gen release and I got the i9 11900K, another 32 GB ram 3600mhz and Z590E MoBo. Happiness level was thru the roof and into low earth orbit. On both PCs as of now 05/17/21 I’m getting 45-60(locked) FPS anywhere in the world. London you say @ Ultra settings I’m getting 45-60FPS??? Many here may think I’m intoxicated or worse! I claim I am NOT! A few notes to be noted, The i9 11900K does run hot so AIO is necessary or custom water block. It does hold the overclock well @ 5.1-5.3ghz, It bounces around every time I start the computer? FPS is slightly higher than the i9 10900K , but that could be due to the 3090? Probably? Noticeably less stutters, when flying over densely populated areas. Should one be getting into VR and building a PC then go for the 3090. It’s a one time purchase that I believe will last a long time and perform very well. I have the Asus Tuf however any brand will do.
