Dear all, ATC instructs me to turn hdg 205 and to expect further instruction in about 33 miles.
this is how my display looks like after turning heading 205:
is there a way to create a way point that is 33 miles from my current position? so that i can be ready for the next ATC instruction?
I’ve flown Dassault and Embraer aircraft and they have the ability to create a point either x miles before or y miles after the next waypoint. There must be similar on the Airbus. Youd have to take your 33 miles off the distance to the next waypoint. You can definitely create a fix a specific distance from the next waypoint on reciprocal bearing to your present track. I shall take a look later.

There may be a more elegant way but if you create a waypoint along the track and distance before or after the waypoint (determined by the bearing from the waypoint) you then set constraints if needed. You can create the waypoint via DATA (page 2) or just enter the name straight where you want it in your route. If there is no existing waypoint of that name it will take you straight to the user waypoint screen.
