How Can I Make a Change in the Usercfg Stay Without Making the File Read Only?

Hi there,

I prefer higher-resolution shadows, so I boost it to 8192 in the usercfg. Unless I keep the file read only, it reverts to the lower settings every time I start up the sim.

Is there a simple way to add a script, stick it in the community folder and then not have to keep the file locked?

You could try mark it as read only on the first run after changes, thereafter exit the sim, deselect read only and those initial changes should stick, if a setting is modified in the sim that does not apply to you changed setting the initial setting should also remain as you changed it.
