Is there a way to roll back to SU5? Both SU7 and SU6 give me black screen and hang when going into VR mode using SteamVR OpenXR runtime.
No there isn’t.
That’s what I was afraid of. Thank you for confirming.
First, turn off Game Optimization in the NVIDIA app. Then reset the MSFS 2024 profile to default by clicking Restore.
After that, launch MSFS 2024 and, instead of DLSS for anti aliasing select TAA or FSR and test VR again.
I’ll give this a try. Thank you.
It still didn’t work. When I try and switch to VR from the VR Mode menu in settings, the screen goes black for about 5 seconds and then returns to the settings menu. I guess Steam/Microsoft have a lot of issues to work out with this game.
Hello,
wich headset do you have?
Steam Frame. Works fine when I switch to Quest 3 or Pico 4 Ultra over Virtual Desktop.
I am/was planning to purchase one…sorry to hear that it is not working as expected.
I have a HTC Vive and beyond nvidia driver 581.80 the same goes here. Black screen.
I got it working. It seems I have to have SteamVR running BEFORE I switch into VR mode. It’s not starting SteamVR automatically like it should. It’s working now, but the frame rate seems to be capped at half the 90hz, and it’s not motion smoothing so moving my head from side to side shows noticable blur on the controls. I tried turning motion smoothing on and off, but the frame rate was capped at 45fps regardless. But at least it’s playable now.
Nice to hear it.
When you think is time I would like to listen to what are your thoughts about Steam Frame and MSFS 2024.
My thoughts on the Steam Frame. So, I also have both the Quest 3 and the Pico 4 Ultra. I wouldn’t say it was a major upgrade over either. I was a little disappointed in the optics. I would say both Quest and Pico optics are better. I notice more image reflection in the lenses on the Steam Frame. The comfort is great, and is one of the main reasons for buying, but I think it could still be better with a third party halo strap. I use passthrough with MSFS, so I also bought the Arcturus camera, but SteamVR does not support chroma key passthrough yet, so that’s also a negative. It’s great if you want to just jump into a game like Half Life Alex wireless with no issues, but for the perfect headset I’m still pinning my hopes on Pico’s Project Swan.
Thanks a lot!
I forgot to ask…how long is the play session on MSFS2024, since it operates with a battery?
Honestly, I haven’t played long enough to run the battery out yet. It’s hard for me to say at this point.
