How can I take advantage of more VRAM?

I’ve got a pretty decent PC with a 10850K 32GB ram and a 3090.
With the 3090’s extra VRAM I was wondering what graphic, data, etc settings I can set higher to take advantage of it?

I think I’ve maxed out my resolution and Cuda cores, but want to know if there are other settings I can bump up that won’t affect processing power but will fill the memory up?

Do terrain and object LOD use VRAM or processing power for example?

For instance. And most likely also texture quality (“higher resolutions” take up more memory, naturally). So in fact pretty much everything that increases the geometry / triangle count and number and resolution of textures.

Various anti-aliasing algorithms may also profit from more VRAM (especially “temporal anti-aliasing”, as this probably requires data from several consecutive frames - but I am not an expert and can only assume what those algorithms do in detail - would have to educate myself first), but that amount may be neglegible when compared to texture / geometry (and is probably more or less “constant” and correlates with your screen resolution).

Oh and yes, screen resolution also affects the required VRAM

Terrain LOD is going to increase your ram and vram and it also affects your cpu.Jealous I can do with the extra vram.

Similar system myself…

i9-10900k / RTX 3070 / 32 GB RAM @ 3200 / SSD / 1440p

I easily run MSFS fully maxed out aside from keeping resolution scale at 100.

You should be able to do the same, what I would do if I were you is bump up the resolution scale.

For some reason my sim has been a bit choppy the past week. I only play in VR but it was great a week ago, and now there’s some cockpit stutter and blurry/wavy visuals sometimes when flying over busy areas.

Not sure if its my GPU or CPU, or something else. The week before it was great, same settings.

Do you know about that Windows update that messed up gaming performance?

I was wondering what happen if the resolution scale is grater than 100, whats the benefit?
