I cant seem to find a way to access my desktop while in VR. Any ideas how to do so? I’m looking for a way to use Neo Fly in VR.
It depends on your VR platform/third-party software.
If you’re using Oculus, you can place any window in the game world by doing this:
- Bring up the Oculus overlay
- On the dash at the bottom click the [ + ] button (on the right)
- Choose the NeoFly window to open it in VR
- On the bottom right, click the pin icon to make the window stay open in-game, this is optional, but it saves having to re-open the dashboard when you want to view the window.
I’m using steam vr with the Reverb G2.
Looks like the typical third-party solution for doing the same thing in SteamVR is OVR Toolkit, there’s no built-in way of doing it in SteamVR itself, or in the sim.
I don’t think this is the solution as my headset is using Windows Mixed Reality, not steamvr.
I still have not found a solution. The problem is that when I try to tab out to another window, my computer refuses to let me tab out of flight sim. The only way to fix this is to quit flight sim. Any ideas?
Ah that’s annoying!
I’ll let somebody else chime in, as I can only give you answers for Oculus, and don’t want to misguide any further. Hope you find a solution!
Run MSFS 2D in windowed mode, not full screen. Then the VR mirror window won’t be full screen either.
