How do you shut off the F-18 engines in MSFS?

I can’t seem to figure out how to shut off the F-18 engines when I park the plane. l looked at some DCS World tutorials and theoretically, if you move the throttle all the way back in the F-18 in DCS World, it will shut off the engines.

But that doesn’t seem to work in MSFS. So how do you shut off the F-18 engines in MSFS?

right mouseclick on the throttlelever should work

Run the checklist?

I was confused by this initially. There is a delay after issuing shutdown (Shift-Ctl-E) before the engines respond. I have tested this on 3 flights and after issuing just a single Shift-Ctl-E, both engines shut down after about 20-30 seconds.

I was hoping there is a way to do it other than Shift-Ctrl-E. We should be able to do it from cockpit in some way.

Left click and hold on the throttle once at idle, then while still holding the left mouse button right click.

Thanks. I think this is how to shut the throttle off. When I followed your instructions, the engine sounds turned off.

Oddly enough, there was still some “exhaust” coming out of the rear engines from the external view even after I shut off the engines this way.

Just like with the real aircraft. After engine shutdown, tail nozzles are smoking hot for a while.
See how good the sim is? :+1:

I waited for about 5 minutes, but there was still some exhaust coming out of it . Maybe I have to wait longer, oh well.

The aircraft had just returned from another mission
