How have you guys solved the “problem” of walking around the aircraft? both outside and of course walking inside the aircraft.
(I dont mean looking around in the cockpit, but the actual walking).
I have seen youtube videos of FSRealistic having a first person walking solution but it sounded like that is quite buggy and also destroys the graphic fidelity while walking around.
How have you guys solved this? are you using the drone camera? if so what settings are you using in the sim to move around?
Inside the plane, you can use a custom view in the cabin, switch to it, then use the arrow keys to move about (this works when you can’t go from the cockpit to the cabin as the wall / door doesn’t allow pass through).
Outside the plane, you can switch to the drone and move around.
FSRealistic added an option awhile back which allows first person view, so you can do the walk around as well that way.
Yeah FSRealistic made a worthy attempt at doing it but it has serious anti aliasing issues, as in there’s no AA at all. I think they said the sim just isn’t designed for it so they appear to have given up trying to develop it further.
From what we can see in the FS2024 trailer they seem to be bringing it to the sim so it looks like we’ll just have to wait until later in the year. Nice feature to have. I’ll look forward to seeing what Asobo do with it.
