It’s a matter of where your priorities are.
- Do you want a butt-kicking sim-cave?
- Is there a Lexus, Volvo, Audi, Mercedes, or BMW in your future? (My wife bought a Lexus when she was selling real estate as people didn’t take her seriously when she drove a Camry. That Lexus was “a hole in the driveway that we poured money into”.)
I have a brother who has The Model Railroad Layout From Hell, and he designed his new house based on a basement floorplan that fit it.
Another brother collects unusual and vintage stringed instruments.
I’m saving up for some realistic (and working!), flight controls since I will never pass the medical for a PPL.
My dad owned a light plane in the 50’s, but had to sell it when the wife and kids came along.
It’s a matter of where you want to put your money. In my case, if I could get a PPL, I would probably join a flying club rather than own outright.
