Not my original, but I thought I would pass it on…
If this is intended to be a light-hearted thread about how family members or partners in life react to your sim passion, I think you should edit the title to make that clear. Otherwise, I suspect the thread will be closed.
Edit:
If that is your wife who is telling you, with the support of your girlfriend, to get off the sim rig and let them fly for a change, I would obey instead of suffering the consequences.
My missus is fine with me doing a bit of simming after work. Often it doesn’t last very long as CTD occurs or a non-human flight issue which cuts it short. So I go and make dinner and forget about it for another day…
If she flies, I set auto pilot, cook, eat, land and repair to the living room for the rest of the evening…
Nice to hear that you let your missus fly too and do your share in the kitchen. But why do you force her to use the AP, even though it is buggy?
My wife hates it. Looks like she’s jealous of the sim.
Before showing it to my spouse, I hyped her about this ultra realistic game with photo realistic graphics and amazing physics and when I finally showed it to her she was like, … this is it?. She did know it was a flight sim btw. Also I was starting from a parked position and was doing the startup procedure and she was like what’s taking so long why aren’t you flying . When I got to taxi she was like why aren’t you taking off? She didn’t seem to get the concept of going to a runway first. To be fair she only went on a plane once so she isn’t that familiar with how it works I guess.
very good! That’s the beauty of inflatable relatives!
Reminds me of when I convinced my wife to go and see independence day by telling her it was a romantic comedy. Half way through she did say that, for a romantic comedy, there were a lot of aliens in this film
HEHE! I tried the same trick recently with Happy Gilmour and it worked!
My wife dresses like a flight attendant and stands behind me during my flights. She brings me coffee and snacks.
Oh yes?!
Mine used too, but the novality wore off, now I have to leave cockpit to get my coffee.
She still likes when I’m flying though, she knows where I’m at.
There is a “vinyl” quality to those legs…
My wife asked me if I was interested in getting a pilot’s licenses and seem quite shocked when I told her no. She would have been even more surprised if I had said yes and showed her what it would cost. She’d be the one saying “no” then.
I’m single lol
Too much information…
Just a joke Gordon.
I’ve started to use FSEconomy. Last week mid dinner I jumped from the table with a ‘■■■■ forget I left autopilot on. I have passengers to to land’. The look I got
My wife would probably be happier if I didn’t bore her with stories of my flights. But she supports me and listens anyway. She asked if I would get my pilot license if we won the lottery and I said “in a heartbeat.” Well, maybe a few heartbeats. I’d probably wait until late spring when the weather is not so inclement.
My wife gets it from both sides though as our daughter also bores her with World of Warcraft stories. For some reason the daughter doesn’t tell me about her WoW stuff, maybe because I’d follow up with a recent flight I did? LOL
My wife feel curious that I keep looking silently at text-on-screen during a flight, once asked out if I am chatting with anybody?
I invited her to closer and read all that fuel valves & flow & remaining mins to consider an emergency landing for refuel.
