They would claim they did as they just followed heavily voted for feature requests, but a user survey first might have been a good idea.
I understand that they are trying to cater to all types but itās the ones with an interest in aviation, who enjoy flying and actually invest a fair bit of time, effort and money in it in my view, that keep this sim going. If they want people to do more than just get a gamepass for a month, realise itās not fit for purpose, and uninstall it, then the returning customer base needs to be listened to.
Unpopular opinion maybe. But thatās how I see it.
Still canāt fly after 3 days, Iām not happy.
I could certainly do the walk around on start being optional. It gets tiresome and as I found a livery preventing a door from opening. I couldnāt get into the cabin of the Twotter yesterday without using SHIFT+C ( a new fs2024 keyboard shortcut) but Iām using the old 2020 keyboard mapping so having to switch over mappings just to get into cockpit is silly. Why change FS2020 mappings at all. Everyone knows them by now. The new UI is alien to me. Iād currently be lost minus an additional game controller. If us long term users are having these issues what does a casual gamepass newbie think?
Day 1 nothing loading. Day 2 managed to load the game but unable to conduct a flight; message - bandwidth too low and, when loading a flight - endless buffering circle. Day 3 still not able to fly as above. How do you cancel purchase and get money back, I have had a look but canāt find option to do this?
There are a lot of examples of them trying to fix things that werenāt broken, the control mapping, the UI, the changing of keyboard shortcuts, it just proves to me that they havenāt listened to feedback properly.
The walkaround is a feature Iāve used once. Literally. It just gets old after that.
I havenāt found out how to do keyboard custom cameras with the new FS2024 keyboard bindings. Seems like we are meant to be in a virtual cockpit with no custom camera views. In FS2020 I live on custom views (via ALT+1, ALT+2 etc). So I switched back to 2020 keyboard bindings, but then other new stuff isnāt available. Itās banging your head against a brick wall time setting this all up, fighting the sim rather than enjoying it. Which is a shame because it is quite nice looking otherwise.
I can see why they disabled marketplace now, they knew it would have launch issues, and servers aside itās a complete mess.
I want to store some of the content locally like aircraft and world updates, why is there no option or response from Asobo on this. Mind boggling.
I paid for the premium deluxe version, I really regret that currently.
I get that 2020 might have had some core underlying issues that needed a complete reset, but instead of charging people for this mess, it should have been a free upgrade for everyone in its current form as its not worth a penny.
The white dot is back on xbox. Itās active all the time even if itās invisible! It took them years to remove it from MSFS20! Why did they re-introduce this nonsense?
Depends on where you bought it from (and partly consumer laws in your country).
Iām sticking it out until it gets better, but you have plenty of grounds in my view for your perspective.

Iāve set multiplayer on and chosen the West Coast USA manually. Been good so far. Just tried the balloon over North Wales, I gave it an 80kt tailwind. All good so far even though the basket is at nasty angle.
I donāt really agree with that, there is a lot of new stuff that warranted a complete sim upgrade. I certainly wouldnāt have been happy if this had for example upgraded fs2020 with no option to roll it back.
What I will say is it just feels rushed to a deadline and should have probably been given a few months more time to sort out many of the evident bugs rather than doing that over next few months while live. But that would have required moving that concrete marker in the calendar that said it was called FS2024 and would release before Christmas. This is however what happens when business schedules dictate releases, but they have form with doing exactly that in FS2020 updates and releases already.
Yeah I didnāt mean that really, just that its in such a state currently Its not worth a premium price.
Yes currently regretting it too, also got the premium deluxe. Got it from CD Keys so was 40% less than the asking price, but even so, I have no desire to use it at the mo. It doesnāt pull me in and immerse me like 2020. Maybe, hopefully thatāll change. But for the moment, itās shelved, and pending some very large changes, Iāll be sticking to 2020.
Yeah same (cdkeys). I will say today I had some progress as I was able to fly, all be it graphically it wasnāt that good.
It has enough content in it now to give it longevity I think, loads of new aircraft etc, but right now Iām spending 80% of my time battling UI issues, server issues, and sim hangs than I am flying aircraft so my view is admittedly skewed a bit.
I keep reading people say they can download stuff to store locally, have you managed to do this yourself?
Canāt find a clear answer if itās possible or not, lol.
Sorry to say I have now requested my money back. I had paid £129 for the premium deluxe version and, after 3 days trying and 8.3 hours of downloading and playing attempts, unable to make a single flight. I hope to return to the game in the New Year when it is playable. Very disappointed, I had even built myself a new PC for the game!
I havent found a way to do this. No option I can find yet. I think from what @SkyVagrant4490 was saying that the trick for streaming aircraft is to let it pre download the aircraft for several minutes before starting a flight. So Iāll try that next. Maybe my Twotter is cached after that I donāt know.
I havenāt been able to actually download it as in the whole aircraft locally as yet and I canāt see how. Iām just sure I read that you are supposed to be able to. Maybe it is the marketplace being down that is the issue.
Yeah, I think waiting either on the world map, or in the sim at the gate/runway for a few minutes to let the aircraft settle and download/cahce is good idea.
Its just Ive read a few posts of people saying you can change from streaming to local cache in āmy libraryā yet no-one seems to be able to do this, it makes me think these people havenāt tried it for themselves and are just going off what they read somewhere else.
