I still get an occasional CTD for some unknown reason, but overall it’s been pretty good. Career mode is bugged to heck and back, especially with regard to weather - nobody, not even the sim, seems to know what it’s giving us. And it’s obvious that the navdata, EFB, ATC, and AI pathing interactions are not working in harmony.
Still some glaring aircraft bugs that are so silly. I’d like to know the pace at which these can and will be fixed.
I still feel sorriest for third-party devs that got blindsided by compatibility promises that were not kept and for missing prime holiday sales opportunities. And that many have been locked out of critical interactions with the core sim - the kind of things that catapulted 2020 into usefulness that have now been walled off.
I empathize with the forum team, community managers, and moderators. You all have the patience of saints and I can’t imagine how stressful it’s been being thrown in the middle of all of this.
And I feel bad for the end-users that express their frustration and log bugs, yet have no real acknowledgment that the communication has received in the way they intended.
That said, the sim has a lot of bright spots, the old code that hamstrung a lot of valuable things has been washed away and I’m confident most of the bugs will eventually be fixed. I see what they’re trying to do and it’s worthy, just not implemented or tested well. So now it’s just down to direction and management.
I’m very happy with several aircraft, and the overall presentation of the scenery and graphics is nothing short of amazing, despite the bugs when you peer close. Free flight in the handful of aircraft that are ready and worthy is where it’s at - it’s still an amazing world to discover.
