Have you tried the non opentrack solution provided in the tobii topic. It might help you get it running without opentrack.
I use opentrack on my old system together with a webcam, and it is ok but not as good as nativ tobii.
You might give it a try.

I know and I appreciate that you are one of the dudes who has empathy for the people with problem. And I am happy to see people like you and would encurrage you to enjoy the sim.
In another topic I have been talking to one guy who was in the same situation like you. He was able to play without issues until saturday. Then all of a sudden it stopped working. So my recommendation would be, just enjoy the game, you do not know if the patch might break something on your side.
