How is your msfs 2024 experience now?

I’ve more or less dialed in the settings tweaks I’m doing for perf and hope to ramp up more GA VFR flights. Still giving up on IFR using the in-game ATC.

At this point just gonna sit back and let the patches and updates and scenery/aircraft ports roll in over time. Looking forward to the Marketplace coming back fully at some point.

Still haven’t touched Career mode, it just doesn’t interest me.

Settings tweak is just a couple things against stock Ultra:

  • offscreen precaching to ultra, since i have gobs of RAM and VRAM
  • glass refresh to medium
  • bump dynamic settings fps target up to 40 or 45 (trading off some TLOD/OLOD in busy scenery areas for smoother frame rate, which I prefer when using head tracking)

I still haven’t bought it yet. If I do, it would be for free flights in GA aircraft only. I am close but feel like I need to upgrade to 64GB of RAM first.

I run 32GB 6000Mhz DDR5 and it’s plenty

Terrific. Awesome!

NOT. MSFS 24 doesn’t need any bughunting, because they are everywhere.

That is good to know! I guess I should try it before the upgrade and just see how it goes.

Time?..

Grab a chaise lounge and tractor trailer full of popcorn… :ok_hand:

Microsoft : Asobo seems like out to lunch!

Still don’t have any Tail numbers that stick to any aircraft.

Don’t even start me on all of our 3rd party aircraft in the holding cell.

Real weather NOT accurate. Forget about flying in it.
“Clear 10SM” is not when it should be…it goes on and on

Before yesterday it was impossible to see any ships except a few very degraded one very occasionaly - and impossible to keep seeing other flyers. Didn’t see other players last evening but I did see plenty of ships. he detail is good but only when right next to them, otherwise very low res blocks of shapes. Smaller ones not visible until feet away but 2 bigger ones seemed to be so detailed I assume some of the GAIST ones in communty are showing
So something has changed with yestrday’s update but apart from that i don’t know what

For example, my setup
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900 12-core processor 3701 Mhz
Memory: 32 GB RAM , DDR5
Current resolution: 1920 x 1080, 60Hz
Operating system: Win 11

Is anyone getting crisp visuals & speedy sim response like 2020? Not me yet, 2024 is still bad unless in a small plane in a more natural rural environment.

Xbox here.

I’m cross posting the following as it applies to a few threads.

Just to add to the interesting mix of experiences…

Im yet to experience a single CTD, But was untill yesterday having the big Vram issue. I run just 2 items in my community folder which is a scenery pack by PilotPlus for Bristol (EGGD) and the Brussles mega airport (EBBR) by Aerosoft. The BIOS was flashed and updated by myself around 6 months ago. With some reasonably dated components, this is my current spec.

  • Windows 10 Home 64bit (22H2)
  • B450 Tomahawk MAX (MS-7C02) Baseboard.
  • AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight-Core (16 logical) Processor 3.70 GHz.
  • MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ti VENTUS 3X E 12GB OC.
  • CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4 3600MHz CL18 AMD Ryzen Tuned Desktop Memory.

After yesterdays ‘Small Hotfix’ which was 10.93gb for me on the Aviators edition via the Xbox game manager on PC, I have had exceptional performance across a mostly ‘Ultra’ outlay of settings. My VRAM bug also seems to have been fixed after testing multiple separate flight instances around the world in the same session. Every flight performed extremely well for me, for the first time possibly ever since launch.

Before yesterday’s update, It was essential that I restarted after every single flight in order to flush my card properly.

I still don’t fully understand what my 10.93gb update included yesterday. My sim was bang up to date so it wasn’t any stacked updates playing catch up. As far as I can work out it was patching many of the Aviators edition aircraft, and evidently a lot more also…

having fun with MSFS2024. its just the PAPI lights are not right with the glideslope on all airports. need to follow 1 white 3 reds. hoping they fix this soon

What should you think? Almost nothing in the game works. Whether it’s free flight or career. You should have bought the game in a year. So there’s no recommendation to buy it for friends and acquaintances.

I think you’ve seen my thread/bug report on this. It’s fairly common for the VGSI to not be fully harmonized with the glideslope and/or runway markings. It really depends region to region, and often airport to airport. In the US, enough of a difference and it’ll be noted as such on the approach plate.

That said, they’re fairly standardized to a default location in the sim, which rarely matches reality, anyway. So either way, almost all of them need to be gone over and manually adjusted. But it still might not fix the disharmony with the electronic glideslope, even if it’s correct to real-world.

Still having loads of issues with the game like halfway in a 4 hour flight it desides to disconnect ap and plung the plane out the sky. Or no alow me to telll atc im on final resulting in me losing rep. Really not worth playing with the boeing as no matter how i play it still finds a way of wrecking my rep. Took over 100hour recover my rep (small flight ferrie flights ) and nope the boeing 737 max still screws me.

I’m enjoying it but I’ve stayed away from from the more complex, and more bug ridden side of things. Loving zipping around in the little Joby for example.

My main disappointment isn’t the bugs its the lack of development of the ATC. I know we were forewarned about that but its still a major piece of the jigsaw thats missing from the overall experience. I’ll wait patiently for them to develop it. The lack of localisation in the ATC voice accents is really something I thought they’d fix for launch. Its such an immersion breaker.

I just had the most enjoyable flight with the Cessna Longitude, In MSFS 2024. It was a bit of a learning experience flying this plane. I am so used to flying the bonanza g36. I was initially worried that the longitude would not work and would be full of bugs , but it worked flawlessly! No bugs ocurred on this flight. Scenery looked good throughout the flight , even at 35,000 ft. KLAX to KDEN. No popping of textures, which I like! Mountains crisp and clear. Average of 50 FPS at LAX with ULTRA settings on my system. I have a beefy system.

Maybe not all planes work well right out the box with MSFS 2024, and I can wait for patches, but there are enough planes that do work to keep me entertained while asobo gets the service updates rolling along.

All in all I am loving MSFS 2024 with its improved graphics, weather systems and flight model, and am anxiously waiting for the Asobo updates. Including the world update of Brazil!

Tried the career mode today. it is impossible to remove the brake pads in career mode. Can click wherever i want. :rage: Where do i have to stand in front of the plane?
