What I originally thought was a downloading issue turned out to be a decompressing issue.
My files have been sitting at [001/033} - Decompressing fs-base-cgl-0.1.21.fspackage.001 for a long time, but then slowly changes to .0XX. How long will this decompression take?
Depends on your system and anything else running.
For a start, be sure to turn your anti virus off so it’s not examining/checking the downloads and files.
My guess is that the time depends on your storage drive speed doesn’t take long at all for me few seconds.
I do have a fast Samsung 970 EVO SSD 1TB - M.2 NVMe might I add is currently a decent price on amazon cos of cyber Monday.
As others have said, if you’re downloading your packages to a regular disk drive, it could take a verrry long time.
On my system, all my file saving and work is going between 2 1TB SSD’s, and I have a max actual download speed of about 350 MB/s, I think it took about 45 minutes to download and install. A couple of times, it did seem like it was stuck, but I know enough to just let it keep going.
Thanks all. Turns out this time was different and it loaded very quickly. Now I am trying to resolve the “black screen, blue bar” issue. I have been searching through multiple forums and tried everything; updated windows, let it sit there, but the bar was not going anywhere… If anyone knows a good fix, please reply.
