I’ve been flying fs since 98. I have about 30 hours on my ppl but not current, the last time I briefly piloted an aircraft was in 2014. I am saving to finish it and then hopefully link up with an aero club. I used to fly out of KHWO, but now I am very close to x51, I am also considering gliding.
I know a lot of people are using this term. But it alway funny to hear it. In a “real” word of “real” pilot there is no no such thing LOL
There are student pilots, military pilots, corporate pilots, sport pilots, airline pilots, flight instructors and etc. Some people fly commercially for a living, and some people who fly for fun, joy and pleasure.
If I ever ask question like that I would phrase it “are you certified pilot” LOL
I’m a real pilot.
In addition, I also own a Diamond DA40 with G1000 panel.
Yes, got my PPL in 2002. Learned to fly in Addison, TX. Flew C172’s for about four years in total with my highlights being several landings at McGeehee’s catfish restaurant near Marietta, OK. Pretty dodgy grass strip that the FBO’s I rented from expressly forbid renters to land at
.
cue all the armchair pilots lol
Honeycomb gave me one free of charge for a promotional thing I did for them in late summer. As far as I know they are completely out of stock currently. Keep your eyes open though as a source told me they will be stocked up again very soon!
Here.
Single engine land - VFR, the most basic pilots license here in the states.
That is a beauty
Thank you. It’s a wonderful Aircraft!
What version of the Triple 7 do you fly, eg. 777-200/777-300/ER/LR?
Both the 300 & 300ER.
Can get a bit annoying at times, as our 300s have RR Trents, vs the ER’s GE90s, and there’s a couple small operational differences. Not to mention the performance difference.
PPL in 1973, then job change, marriage, cost, etc. took me away from it. Last flight as PIC was in '76. Simming helps to a point, but I’d love to experience the real thing again…
I was a private pilot for 25 years. MSFS has given me the closest thing to the joy of flying.
What are your thoughts on the 777X? Will you be in the Cockpit of one at some point in the future?
I’m a huge fan of the 777, I’d take it over an A350 any day.
Military and police helicopters mainly, some corporate and private.
Shame there are no helicopters in MSFS yet
PPL flying Piper Warriors since last year, but I main A-Wing recently.
I was hoping I would be one day. Unfortunately I think they’ve been delayed indefinitely (at least for where I am anyway).
From what I heard though, it’s meant to be a beast of an aircraft. I’m just worried the effects of this year will really hurt it. It’s probably just too much aircraft given the current climate. I think the 787 is going to get a lot of 777X orders over the next few years as airlines look to downsize without cancelling orders entirely.
I started glider flying in 1980. The highest I have been in a glider is 22500’ in mountain wave ! Charles
22,000’, Wow!
Where in the world was that? What are the airspace/ATC clearance requirements for a glider going that high?
Commercial, instrument and CFI but I haven’t flown in many years.
