Hi there, I am just wondering how many of you guys have the fear of height and have you been able to adjust to it?
Me personally I am scared of heights
You know what gave me a strong shot of acrophobia (fear of height)? Trying VR in the sim for the first time, sticking my head outside the plane’s window, and looking down. I was certain I was going to fall.

They say once you go VR, you don’t go back to 2D. I went back 
But seriously, it’s a completely subjective experience that’s incredible for some, and meh for others. I wish I could do it more, but the hardware and software just wasn’t ready when I tried it, and it doesn’t jive with the type of flying I do now. Everyone should try it if they have the chance though.
It was immersive enough though to induce senses of actually being there and sensations like I was going to fall.
I am afraid of heights.
It’s not so much the height as it is a fear of my own ability not to lose balance.
But, I have no issues with heights whilst in an airplane. I am a PPL, I have hung upside down at 5K ft doing aerobatics in an Extra 300 with nothing between me and the earth except a seatbelt and a half inch of plexiglass. Not a moments hesitation. I trust the airplane.
Put me on a 10’ ladder though… or heaven forbid the roof of my house and I’m a nervous wreck!

Correct. I’ve hung from the wing spar of a Cessna 182 while skydiving, and standing on the top rung of a ladder is definitely worse lol
