How many people have FS2024 but still choose FS2020?

Yeah, I just gave up on 2024 yesterday. I went back to 2020 and found that the cockpit instruments were much clearer and the FPS much better. There are slight advantages maybe somewhere but the flight planning/AP is also screwed up.

IMHO they just loaded this down with stuff that cannot be properly displayed in normal high end computers.

So maybe it will work and I’ll follow but I checked 2020 out yesterday and it is just cleaner.

Pre-purchased 24 and spent 30 hours finding a substantive amount of broken things. Asked for a refund and then got banned from the XBOX store after I got my refund. When I asked why, the reply was, “I don’t know, I’m just the messenger” from whoever I was emailing back and forth with. So it appears I’ll be sticking with 2020 until 2024 it gets fixed. But that won’t be anytime soon, as the developers seem to be in a complete state of chaos, with little clue as to how to fix it, or perhaps this is intentional. “We told them it wasn’t ready”.

I fly the 787 and none of the bugs from 2020 were fixed and the AP is still screwed up. Plus lost all my liveries. Plus the actual plane does not have the wing flex in 2020 (wings look like a bird bent in a turn when fully loaded).

I tried to like this and spent a lot of time trying to get the flight planner to work but there are serious bugs in the implementation and Top of Climb and Top of Descent… they move…

Rating in the store two 2 stars…

Maybe your airliners work better but I cannot relearn the fine points and give up.

I am not getting FS24 because FS20 still has MAJOR issues. Not following and/or losing Nav guidance comes to mind.

I do think many people have forgotten that FS2020 was actually quite good at the end. And those who have uninstalled it will never have a direct comparison.

If they had fixed the flaws in it, rather then trying to jump to the moon with all the things they are trying to cram in, I think everyone would have been happier. Career mode, etc could have come later as an add-on.

None of the quality planes work in 2024 (except for the RJ). Not paying 80 euro for a license of some uninteresting asobo planes .

I imagine there are so many others just like yourself who have just received this for Christmas and wished they got socks instead.

I hope you all can keep smiling and telling them how much you enjoy being a beta tester and can keep that up for the next four years.

I’m one of the fools who didn’t learn their lesson with 2020 and pre-ordered after trusting them again.

Don’t waste tens of hours trying many, many things to try to make it perform better as they’ll be wasted hours - It is what it is until they fix it but I have less faith in that happening than I did with 2020 which is so much better appreciated now that I have 2024 REMOVED from my system despite buying another 4TB SSD in case needed to run both for a year or two.

Back to Christmas presents - it’s the thought that counts but maybe try for a refund and buy later if you hear they’ve managed to fix it a lot.

I have an AMD 5950, 32GB RAM and an Invidia RTX 3070 and I cannot run 2024 on any graphic setting higher than medium.

Oh wow, do you think a 5800X3D would handle it in 1440p?

I think the steams stats says everything you need to know about how the launch went… More people playing 2020 vs 2024.

Today I spent 4 hours trying to get an aircraft off the ground, I followed a tutorial online, setup simbrief, configured the Flight Computer, Calculated the weight of the fuel needed for the Take Off Configuration, First off controller support on the Inibuilds v2 A320 is awful in comparison to the Asobo Model so I am manually switching between my keyboard and mouse and my xbox controller. Finally I get everything up and running, go to to take off the aircraft jolts I had to stop, take off again and I’m in the air finally! The aircraft is following the plan… everything is going well and suddently the auto throttle sends the plane into overspeed, I’m unable to see anything in the cockpit at night I am frantically trying to find the red button on the joystick to stop confirm the disconnection, finally the aircraft’s speed is dropping but dropping to a stall. This keeps happening for 5 minutes over and over and over again and then I finally have enough and quit. load up MSFS2020, spend 5 minutes getting everything loaded up and enjoy the flight. MSFS2024 is a chore.

The difference is I can setup MSFS2020 and get off the ground in literally 3-4 minutes and the same time I’ve wasted loading in MSFS2024 I’ve already got a plane in the air.

Microsoft must find a way to make it as easy as MSFS2020 to setup a flight. The EFB is not fit for purpose.

The scenery, weather ,clouds, lighting is way more better, more natural in msfs 2024 !
3D trees make a difference too !
Don’t want to go back, even when msfs 2024 is by far not mature yet.
It is like 8bit color vs 10bit color.

For the first two weeks after 2024 was released, it was all 2020. As each day passed, I spent an hour or so in 2024 to see what I could do (yeah, I’m retired). As the days have gone by, the pendulum has swung more toward 2024. Don’t get me wrong, 2024 still has a lot of bugs and I would love to see more planes there, but I guess it’s finally growing on me. BTW, Free Flight only, not into any of the other stuff.

I fly the Kuro and the Horizon 787’s in 2020 and I don’t really have any issues. Livery’s are all fine. The 787 in 2024 is no go. Hopefully Horizon will mod it at some point.

I pretty much have it running in 2024 with the limited liveries. The VNAV Bug I have isolated the problem and filed a bug report… I want to use the flight planner in 2024 and cannot seem to move back and forth between 2020 and 2024 plans… but they definately downgraded the wings in 2024.

Clear Skys.

I have no problems with 2024, apart from the odd bug, so its my goto.

MSFS2024 is a GAME for the ‘Straight and level’ brigade.

Take off, fly somewhere, land. It really is boring, so spice it up with a Career challenge.
‘Love of money is the root of all evil’.

MS and Asobo have done this because,
1/ Simple flying gets boring,
2/ Only a ‘Few’ ( pun intended ) can fly aerobatics with some style.

There are some aerobatic aeroplanes in the line up, but they keep getting crashed, which becomes boring after your 50th life.

MSFS2020 is great, so the many at microsoft and Asobo should owe much to us few.

Many many people feel like they’ve been sucker punched.

There is no way they can undo what they did…that would be a miracle!

About the best thing you can hope for is they stop falling all over themselves and create…

THERE IS NO CELEBRATION HERE !!

Pretty much my situation with a 7950, which helps not at all. It is the cards and their implementation of memory use in the cards… 2020 ran fine at solid settings. I still have it and can compare… shocking.

Since the patches were released 2024 is unplayable for me. The load times are 20 plus minutes if it loads at all and I have reinstalled too many times to count so 2020 is my goto. I’m annoyed they releaed this version at all in its current state. I’m not employed by Microsoft to spend my time testing.
