I seem to be one of the lucky ones. I am still flying in FS2020 with almost no problems at all.
But I would really like to know if I am just one of the few, or one of the vast majority of flight simmers, most of which never comment on this forum?
Why is this forum flooded with „it works here“ vs „it doesn‘t work here“ topics all over?
It‘s cumbersome…
Me. I had constant FPS (> = 40) and no stutters until the last update. Since then, constant FPS (> = 40) but constant stuttering (<5 FPS) every 10-12 seconds.
Sadly unplayable
Regards.
M.
I think the truth for me is unplayable? No. Completely unenjoyable, yes.
I have gone from great relatively stable performance to a PowerPoint slideshow at times, with some 24fps footage thrown in for good measure.
What I would like to know is what are the percentages of those that are having real problems to those like me that are having almost no problems with this sim?
Hi there, I happen to be one of the lucky one also.
Unplayable since last update RTX3090 i9-10900k dedicated SSD-M2 disk 32Gb RAM
Unplayable for what I do, I am sure I would be able to fly a small plane VFR in the bush with more than 60fps
I am like you, I don’t have any real noticeable degradation compared to previous builds, although asking this question here is going to lead to some bad statistical analysis. I think Asobo have more detailed data to analyze on the performance, everything we do is just conjecture.
Don’t we have enough such threads already?

My question is just about the percentages of those that are having real problems to those like me that are having almost no problems with this sim, nothing more!
For the planes only 10% are playable. As it is so call flight sim and you can’t play the game without the planes. So I can say MSFS is 10 % playable at this stage. I’m so lucky that I can still launch the game without CTD at this moment as I don’t know what will happen tomorrow.

Nobody can and will answer you that. We just don’t know and the type and regularity of the issues is also very different, it’s not black and white.
Stuttering, sudden large drops of FPS. Not fun…delaying my purchase of Reverb G2, why amplify this in VR?
No mods, same with empty Community folder.
R75800 RT5700XT 32GB 3200
So are commas for quotation marks
I agree that its not mod related. Other than known areas with performance issues, like 76T, poorly optimised Photogrammetry areas like London, or just very complex scenery like KLAX, most of my flights perform more than acceptably. The stuttering seems to kick in somewhat randomly outside of these areas. I could be in the middle of the jungle, with no busy cities, or airports, or airspaces anywhere near me, then have an entire region that stutters. Other places would be fine.
The worlds a big place, and all I could suggest doing, until a fix is released, is to avoid flying in those busy areas, instead of constantly revisiting them, and getting frustrated.
Only issue I have currently is the scenery draw distance around the plane is really bad. Seems only a small distance is normal and the rest just blurry.
I’m well happy with mine, I have had issues and I don’t get butter smooth flights but I do get half reasonable FPS and I enjoy flying in and out of VR.
I think ASOBO are doing great and hopefully as future updates come out, things will get better for everyone, so we all can enjoy this remarkable sim.
No I don’t work for or get any pay from Microsoft or ASOBO.
Unplayable? No. I can find areas to fly in where I don’t fly straight into FPS black holes and stutterfests. But it’s not enjoyable. It just becomes a stressful experience dealing with it.
It does make it a 2nd choice simulator though for me. I put it behind the sim I have used for several years. I consider MSFS a really lengthy work in progress. People tell me other simulators had this problem as well, but I don’t remember those simulators having so many bugs (autopilot bugs, atis, weather, flight control issues, localized fps problems…) months after they were released. I remember small teaks, not massive requirements for X-Plane 10 and X-Plane 11.
I’m not writing MSFS off. But it’s like the Ferrari in the garage that nobody wants to touch because you might break it. Meanwhile I put a ton of mileage on my Corrola (my other sim).
