How to exclude a specific airport from a streamed addon package?

One of the users of my freeware scenery asked me a question I have no answer.

It’s related to a FranceVFR addon that grouped several airports into one single product. This product has been acquired by my fellow user via the MSFS Market Place. FranceVFR Paris - VFR Airport. It’s kind-of streamed compared to as if it was acquired via external market place and installed manually or via the developper’s installer.

My freeware airport is Toussus - LFPN. If you own the FranceVFR Paris package installed manually, you just have to remove .BGL files to avoid having the 2 airports activated at the same time : \francevfr-800-parisvfrairports\scenery\lfpn-airport.bgl et \francevfr-800-parisvfrairports\scenery\lfpn-poly.bgl

How removing this specific files only - and not the whole package - when the product is streamed and acquired via the MSFS Market Place ?

In “My Library” you should be able to download it and install it, it shouldn’t have to be streamed.

Oh? Didn’t though of this tricks. Thank you.

So, your idea is to use the download “the whole product”. You thing the content will be available for removing the same exact 2 .BGL files as if it was installed? I can’t test and I suspect that the download feature of MSFS2024 doesn’t copy files as if they were installed by an installer but certainly into a cache format. Isn’t it?

I’m not 100% sure as I haven’t tried it, but my understanding is that you can download it and save
the file on your device, so I would think you should have access to it, not just in a cache.

Moved to User Support Hub > Scenery & Airports as Op is requesting community assistance.

I can’t test it as well, as I don’t have Market Place product. But the download features, if designed as you suggest would be a gift for pirates. And considering that the download feature has only feature to… cache on local vs streamed, I see no reason Asobo wouldn’t have put it has a cache-like file.

See the folder StreamedPackages full of _______.fsarchive files.

Another option is to ask the user to check in “My Library” how comes the FranceVFR Paris - VFR Airport packages. In some cases airport can be individually disabled.

Example: I own France-VFR “Airports France 1”, “Airports France 2”, “Airports France 3”.
I cannot disable individually the airport part “Airports France 1” & “Airports France 2” but I can for airport part of “Airports France 3”. I guess there is like a flag that drives this kind of setup and that needs to be checked by France-VFR team when submitting a package to Marketplace:
