thanks for the accurate information, i would like to review just one question, are you running MSFS in window or fullscreen mode? I made the change I will start the tests !! thanks @GingerDread654
Full screen.
You are welcome
Good day everyone,
i have a question about AF and Texture Supersampling (TSS)
You recommend at Texture 4x4
Is this TSS 4x4 in combination with AF off or 16x?
16x Anisotropic
I have cpu AMD Ryzen 7 1800X 3.60Ghz and gpu Nvidia 1080ti. Which best cpu for upgrade?
Thank you.
Hey everyone, Iāve taken the liberty to parse and summarize the original guide in a table format for easier use during game settings tuning.
The result is in my repo at github: guischmitd/msfs2020_graphics_settings (The forum doesnāt let me post links, Iām assuming itās because my account is new)
Currently available in markdown format on the repoās README, as well as in html and pdf printable versions.
All credit goes to @TheOriginalBabu for the actual work done. Iāve put this attribution and the link to the original post on the first lines of the files.
Hope this helps (:
I donāt know why I waited about 5 months to try each of these settings, but I just netted around 12-15 fps from implementing the settings guidelines for Windows 10, Nvidia control panel, and msfs graphics suggestions. Currently running in mid 50ās and even hit 60 occasionally. This is flying low vfr in Cessna 152, in photogrammatic sceneries like San Francisco Bay Area, Chicago.

Hello. Thanks for sharing this. I am getting mixed results with that setting either on or off. Are you getting better results with āBackground Servicesā selected? Thanks again:-)
Thanks for the table summary - having a printout helps while experimenting with MSFS graphics settings. A 1-page version would be even better ![]()
Great stuff.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I would like to thank you for this comprehensive guide. I have been attempting to fly the FBW A320 NX from Entebbe to Dubai for the last three days. With my previous settings I managed 30 FPS on departure, which gradually reduced during the flight to a stuttery 11-20 after three hours. I copied your MSFS settings exactly, Iām not proud, and in addition shut down the options in the screen toolbar except ATC and AI. So far I have completed three hours of the flight. The frame rates were around 50 FPS on departure, and they are still the same, both externally and within the cockpit. In addition the scenery looks superb.
In adopting your settings I actually increased some of my settings, while decreasing some others, so I am really happy with the results. So many thanks for your hard work.
just placing a link for a not very visible post, and a idea for the Asobo Team⦠a wish for an additional feature:

I have limited the performance to 30fps in the invidia panel and in FSā¦
But even like this thereās such a difference in performance in the cockpit and outside the cockpit.
CPU limited in the cockpit, GPU outsideā¦
could be something to do with the fact that more stuff needs to be rendered in external view, but in cockpit view you only have to see out windshield so certain objects can be culled, etc.
Would explain why my fps is around 5fps higher in the cockpit of the JF arrow when flying around an area like London city where I find it drops a bit in external.
The same is not for aircraft with glass panels.
Do we have a list anywhere of the graphic settings that affect GPU vs CPU? Right now my CPU is way under utilized vs my GPU so I would like to know what I can increase for āfreeā.
How was this CPU usage verified?
watching the fps window in dev mode and watching the cpu frametimes vs gpu frametimes.
That is hard to tell you since we have no idea what your hardware is.
But , you can go to the Options, General screen to change your
display options.
Set Full Screen Resolution to what your display has as the Native mode.
Quality to Ultra
Render Scaling slider to 100
See what it does. Your PC might crash
This will push the maximum graphic pixels to your display.
Then change the Quality to the other 3 settings:
High-End
Medium
Low-End
See what your CPU and GPU look like with Task Manager.
Right click the Start button and click Task Manager.
And then select the Performance tab.
Here is mine.
You can see my CPU is running at 11% utilization
My GPU is running at 99% utilization.
I fly the Cessna CJ4 Jet with these settings with my i9-9900K CPU,
64 GB of memory and GTX 1660 TI GPU.
My FPS runs around 20 FPS.
It suits me. Flight is smooth and the CJ4 is responsive.
I cannot expect anything more from this GPU.
But it sure displays some pretty scenery.
