How to proceed when (most likely) gaming services are an issue?

Unable to start MSFS. Splashscreen, checking updates, Synching and thennnnnn… NUTTING. It seems the latest version of Gaming Services in combination with the SU12 Beta (although also non beta users are affected) is not a happy marriage. How to proceed? I am not home yet to try, I can only hope the MS store shows an update for the .Exe file and that the new executable works with the current version of the Gaming Services… keep you posted.

so… you have at this moment a problem, or not ?

For what it is worth… I got the latest gaming services update just over an hour ago on my PC.
I was not enrolled in SU12 beta.

Marketplace detected and updated MSFS to SU12 and I have had no issues with launching the sim to the main menu.

A quick question, are you enrolled into the preview programme in insider hub for “Windows Gaming”? I know that can sometimes issue gaming serives updates that have caused issues with MSFS in the past.

I am not in that preview programme any longer. My latest gaming services update was to version 10.75.13001.0 (found under settings>apps>Installed apps>gaming services advanced options)

Maybe a reboot of the PC might help?

sofar, it’s an issue yes. There’s no MSFS update in the store, so I expect it would update while launching MSFS. However, launching MSFS just gives me the splashscreen and then it slowly dies on me. I would love to have an “older” version of the Gaming services, if that’s at all possible.

hi, thanks.
I was enrolled in the preview yes. But unrolled yesterday as part of the ‘trying to solve the issue’ proces…

OK - reset Windows - now installing a lot of things. But at least I am downloading MSFS latest version now… Looks like it’s solved sofar… Just no flying tonight!
