How to pushback when on VATSIM/vPilot

Hi,
I am about to start using VATSIM with vPilot. For now, it’s still a lot of reading and video watching.
I already was sitting at airports and listening to the radio chatter.

Here’s the question:
VATSIM frequencies are slightly different from MSFS ATC frequencies.
When requesting pushback, I am tuned to VATSIM ground/clearance frequency of that airport.
And I do not think the VATSIM ATC controller will steer my tug as in MSFS…
How do I call the tug then? Would I switch to MSFS ATC, tune ground and call the tug as usual?

I asked myself the same question. I use reverse thrust for push back. Trying to use MSFS ATC results in “no push back tug available at the moment”.

Reverse thrust was the best solutions for me.

There is a Toggle Pushback key-bind. Mine is set to Shift+p. It won’t allow a direction but it can get the aircraft away from a wall.

That happens to me sometimes but if you ask for the tug a second time it does come for me.R

its free and gives you pushback with steering capability. https://flightsim.to/file/853/pushback-helper-v2-0

theres a few other pushback programs out there as well

LShift+P is the default push back toggle. You can use it anywhere on the ground.

Use pushback helper 2.0 for pushback … no frequency, instant move … standalone program… amazing

I do like Pushback Helper as well. It’s nice to be able to steer the plane.

Pushback Helper is on v2.3 now I think. It has a lot of useful functions now including:

Call Fuel
Open various doors
Most useful of all: Push-pull tug (so you can pull forward)

use PushbackHelper
its free and you can pushback without pushback truck and you ask on VATSIM for pushback and its better to steer
