Earlier, I was happily cruising along at 45000 feet when out of nowhere the No.1 engine lost oil temperature and stopped.
I tried in vain to restart it but nothing worked, so I’d like to know, is there a proper restart procedure for when this happens?

I just took a look at the checklist, it essentially goes start right engine then left: Power Lever to Idle, Engine Run/Stop button to Run, Engine Starter button Push. However - this only worked for the Right Engine, I was unable to restart the Left engine either. I would read the manual, but Asobo didn’t give us one. I think this aircraft is more than a little broken.
After tinkering with it further, I realised that the controller and simulator throttle were not aligned at the lower end (a problem with all jets that have reverse thrust I think), so that you can’t pull back the your throttle to engage Idle, not does it use the portion of travel aft of the gate (on a TM Warthog at least) to Shutdown or enter reverse thrust. To engage Idle, you have to make sure that the back edge of the throttle lever in-cockpit is just forward of the REV Area marked with diagonal warning stripes.
Once you do that, then the start sequence should work, assuming that you don’t have some sort of failure setting on that has made your engine U/S.
