Issue:
One thing the marketplace appears to have is “reviews” and “ratings”, and many items appear to have a number of reviews/ratings, but the actual reviews themselves do not appear to be visible. Neither can I find a way to actually leave a review/rating of something I purchased.
First: A product’s actual Reviews/Ratings cannot be viewed.
Note the following two illustrations:
- A page from the Marketplace showing three products that have reviews/ratings:
Note that the first item has 11 reviews with a rating of 4.8 out of 5, the second has over four hundred reviews with a rating of 4.6 out of 5, and the third has almost 60 reviews with a rating of 4.5 out of 5.
- The detail page for the Eurofighter Typhoon:
Note that the only “details” available in the “Rating Details” is a chart showing the distribution of the ratings.
This leads to the obvious question of how does a prospective customer VIEW and READ FOR HIMSELF the reviews that people have taken the time to create?
======================
Second: (A corollary to the first question)
If I have messed with product “X” and I want to leave a review, how do I do it?
======================
As another poster said in a different, (closed), topic touching on this subject, being able to read the reviews is an essential part of the purchase process, especially if the ability to get a refund might be limited.
As that poster said, a product may get poor reviews based on criteria that are not relevant to him, (or might be based on an older version, incorrect assumptions about the aircraft, etc.), and as a consequence, he may choose not to buy something that he would have enjoyed.
Likewise, a product may get excellent reviews overall, but the few less complementary reviews may touch on something of extreme importance to him - and he may end up with an aircraft that he can’t use and be left with a bitter taste in his mouth that could have been easily avoided.
====================
So, how can we view existing product reviews within the Marketplace, and how do we go about offering our reviews for consideration?
Thanks!
