Well i have to say after i turned off the recognition light, landing, and tax lights (yeah they were all on lol), things greatly improved.
When you turn any one of those on while in the air, it creates a massive light haze.
I dont do much night flying as you can tell 
Not sure whats proper for mid air M20R, not sure if recog needs to be on in the air, guessing not and only strobe and beacon?
At any rate, cutting those on the wing really helps and it was fun to turn them on when landing or at least the landing ones.
