i have some weird issue and i don’t know if it is a bug, an addon that messes around or … i don’t know.
In some situations i’m losing the HUD, external and internal view, and can’t bring it back, no matter what i do. Only a full restart of the Sim brings the HUD back.
I can’t say when this exactly happens, only that it is during a flight and when i hit escape to go to the menu for a pause, changing/checking controller settings or so.
I also tried to disable and enable the HUD in the Assistance Options, but that doesn’t help.
As there is also (sadly) no button to hide/show the HUD, i can’t even hit that accidentally.
Addons that i use, that might cause issues (in my mind)
Shift Z Stats, mugz-hiddenui, fspm-panel-vfrmap, nameplate-green
At least those addons have some sort of impact on the UI, so i could imagine they cause an issue.
As i sadly don’t know what i exactly do (besides going to the menu during a flight) i haven’t tried completley without addons.
Most of the times going to the menu is no issues. But on some occasions, this happens.
So i wanted to know if someone maybe faces the same issue or has probably an idea what could cause this.
I use Shift-Z stats, and it sometimes disappears too, but not always with the HUD.
There are lots of others addons that might be culprits. In the early days I spent hours on such things without result, so learned to live with it.
Restarting is easy, and a lot quicker now. I’m in the middle of additions to my home cockpit that will make the HUD superfluous, but good luck with yours.
The only thing that comes to my mind is the Instrument HUD in Assistance Options.
You can set that to Full, Minimal but also to OFF. Maybe that happened to you accidentialy?
No. Firstly there are only two options - minimal and off. At the moment the HUD did come back kinda - it shows only the left engine power setting, nothing else, for all twin props and jets.
Ok found a solution. The erratic HUD behavior only occurs when the game is displayed in a window. When the game is switched to full screen all the HUD info returns. If I switch back to windowed then random HUD info will vanish. So I’m gonna just guess this is some weird display driver issue, although I am using the latest drivers from nvidia.
