I hope they can fix the humidity in the air… where I live in Sicily right now with 35 degrees and high humidity it seems like there is fog at times… in sim it is not reproduced… if I’m not mistaken in 2020 yes can someone confirm?
I find that the humidity slider doesn’t have any effect either but you use one of your cloud layers you can put one of them on the very bottom say --100 to 2000ft AGL then modify the coverage from 95-100 and modify the density to 0.05. The only bad thing about this is that you use up one of your cloud layers though unlike the wind you can keep adding layers. This will create a nice haze layer. I wish they would do the same for clouds in custom weather. Maybe in a update they can do this. Please vote on it!
Does anyone know if this will be fixed in the future?!
I really hope so. We need an entire Sim update specifically for weather only. It has so much potential but most don’t seem to care to make a drastic difference.
Even though these weather and atmospheric related items have so few upvotes, I hope Asobo sees what Laminar did with their X Plane 12.2.0 update with their clouds and lighting engine for the atmosphere to replicate it for MSFS.
They got rid of the haze circles, which seems great, but there’s still a long way to go before MSFS 2024 gets on par with X Plane wrt atmospherics and clouds.
EDIT (08/11/2025): Latest SU3 beta brought back the haze circles.
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

Sorry, but this is ridiculous!

Issue 1 = Humidity slider does not function
Changing humidity in custom weather panel does not effect the scene in MSFS 2024. In 2020 adding humidity would soften harsh horizon lines and hide LOD limitations.
Below: Humidity set to 1
Below: Humidity set to 9.27 (zero change in scene)
Issue 2 = Distant cloud LOD cutoff
Their is a very dramatic cut-off point where distant clouds no longer load. It feels as if the worlds lighting no longer effects anything on the horizon after a certain point. I could also understand this to be a compromise of the game engine to keep the game performant and not an issue at all. I just think possibly the lack of working humidity also has somthing to do with how dramatic this LOD cuttoff appears.
Zoom into cloud LOD cutoff.
Graphics: are set to the Ultra preset
After nine months you noticed it, too ?
A lot of people complain about that, but MS/Asobo seem not to be very interested in it.
Even after some polls. Don’t ask me, what else we should do?
Look further down, they resolved the problem by removing the slider ! Applause !
Yeah, its really disappointing that they have not made a sim update focusing on weather. It would be great if they open up the Weather to 3rd party fully so we can actually get some descent and consistent weather in MSFS since they don’t seem to care about it.
