I am shocked, but not surprised, about all the negative comments here

It appears you are heaping praise on this game while being critical of it as well.
Negative comments abound hopefully MS/Asobo is reading them.
You shouldn’t be shocked nor surprised. It is obvious to many it was released more as a game then a simulator. Many here are convinced it is only the beginning of a long journey. Kind of crazy other flight simulator developers will most likely up their game while people here wait for improvement.
It may evolve into something better but right now its so full of bugs and non-functional or broken avionics it’s not worth spending much time playing.
Some day maybe it will be.

I can see no reason why one representative from the development team could not be designated to be a point of contact between end-users and the actual developers. This is standard practice in other large software projects, including other flight simulators.

For instance, with P3D, you have Beau Hollis and Rob McCarthy from the development staff, who directly interact with customers on the LM support forums.

Fully agree. What I also don’t get, is why those moaners feel the need to compare a brandnew sim, that is missing features/functionality/polish, and is nowhere close to be judged as a platform, to established platforms like P3D and Xplane. That’s utter nonsense and just serves one purpose: blind hate and spreading false rumors. How can anybody in their right mind hate on this sim? There’s a lot to be polished/added and fixed, AGREED, but it’s the very beginning of a new platform, how can those people not understand this? It’s not even a difficult concept to grasp. If we would compare P3D V5 to the first version of Xplane ever, imagine the absolute uproar there would be. You can’t compare an established Xplane11 to a first version of an unfinished and unoptimized simulation platform that doesn’t even have a complete SDK out yet for 3rd parties to create max-fidelty and functionality content. Judge the sim once it went through multiple patches and has several hundred add-ons available, that’s where the true Fs2020 will start to spread its wings. Right now it’s like comparing the writing skills of a toddler to those of an adult. Let the sim mature and you will see…

i dont hate it. i have a problem with a fundamental feature, and it’s not even a bug. their method for creating generic airports is flawed and a step backwards from even fs9. (relying completely on photos instead of official published data)

I don’t agree. This is in no way blind hate or spreading false rumours. If people ‘hated’ the sim, they wound’t buy it and spend their hard earned money doing so. They’re not spreading false rumours, but reporting their experience which is not consistent with the product as advertised.

I was hugely excited about this sim coming out, I couldn’t wait. But I had to wait 4 four days for the sim to download. After downloading I find things don’t work properly with the sim crashing to desktop regularly and unpredictably in ways I cannot easily replicate. I don’t hate the sim, I can see the potential in it, but I’m going to be honest and truthful and not get carried away with the hyperbole.

We’ll come back to MSFS2020 once the sim is stable and works.

You got it. I completely agree with you. Incredibly well made sim is this

I don’t understand the hate and what people want the developers to answer. Obviously the developers need to focus on the most important issues (such as installation issues). It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the wind speed bug or any other non-critical bug is not prioritized above installation issues.

In the latest post on their website, it says

We appreciate all the feedback from the community and we are hard at work updating the feedback snapshot and development roadmap

In other words: they listen to us and appreciate the (constructive) feedback we give them. They just need to prioritize the issues, so be patient.

Wow, that didn’t take long. Completely validated his point in the second reply. New world record??

Could not have said that better

Ofcause it should out perform the existing sims, and it does in so many respects. The old sims FSX, p3d and xplane was terrible right out of the box. Been along as simmer since 1985. You have to give this 6 to 18 months to reach its potential

Some people just don’t get it!

There is a world of difference between just whining and constructive criticism.

So, to all you “professional” whiners out there, stop thinking with your fingers and use your brain instead.

Very well said. I think it is a reflection of society as a whole right now, at least in the U.S. Lots and lots of very angry people, demanding that things go their way “or else.” Social media is a part of the problem, but mostly, I think people have forgotten that a little kindness goes a long way.

I hate to bring up politics, but our “leadership” preaches intolerance, and takes a “my way or the highway” stance on everything. That makes it seem okay to be mean and angry if you don’t get what you want. Mix in six months of being cooped up, and being forced out of your regular routine… that’s a recipe for high tension.

I’m surprised that the developers were able to launch such a relatively solid game given the extreme conditions our world has endured the past six months. For me, it’s a very welcome distraction from my own day-to-day worry and stress. The new flight sim is great, and will get better and better I’m quite certain.

Hats off to the team that pulled it together to give all of us a next-generation flight simulator. Thank you!

I guess a major problem here is that a lot of the people being “rage angry” here do not understand the normal life cycle of complex simulators? They want to play now and then move on to the next big thing. Us that are used to a great simulator every ten years that is buggy as hell on release kind of knows the drill? And we are good at seeing if the rough diamond really is a real one or a fake. This one is real. I have done this drill for 30 years…

Exactly. X-Plane on a Powermac anyone?
