I reinstalled MSFS 24. Opened the Xbox Insider app, joined the preview, it said “pending”. I restarted my console. Launched the game, but it did not prompt me for an update to the beta version, like it normally does.
I didn’t think much of it.
When in the game, I realised I was playing the public build, as the game took very long to launch from the boot up splash screen to the main menu and graphics looked blurry and map loading in very, very late.
I restarted my console again. No beta update. I did a hard reset. No beta update. I launched the Insider app again, it still says “pending”.
What is going on? Why can’t I rejoin the beta? Anyone else had similar problems on Xbox recently?
Upgraded from an Xbox Series S to the Series X for better performance and graphics which it does run waaay better and the graphics draw distance has increased.
Joined the beta on my S a week or two ago. Followed the instructions again to enroll the X and it’s stuck on the pending, something went wrong, try again loop.
Thought maybe I had to un-enroll the S so I did that but that says pending as well. On the settings, device management menu it has the next to the S for “changes being made” and next to the X to un-enroll it from Beta but after quitting all programs and restarting the console I’m still on the Alpha on the X, still on the Beta on the S and it just keeps saying “pending”.
The same thing is happening to me, I’ve been trying to get into the beta since yesterday and it’s just pending and doesn’t conclude. Even restarting the console, the update doesn’t arrive
Maybe they figured out that the new Beta has blurry LOD again and is just crashing to CTD the whole time. Like multiple reports without getting any communication for Xbox the second beta is unplayable. At least what I can judge on Xbox x
Okay, so other Xbox users are experiencing the same, it appears. Well, that’s somewhat comforting.
Perhaps, they have put the beta on ‘hold’ without making an official announcement. Who knows, right?

Not sure if getting into the beta has been deliberately put on hold or not, so worth a try.
For those of you experiencing the issue of not being able to download the beta client on Xbox Series X|S, can you kindly clarify which of these scenarios applies to you?
I was previously using the SU1 beta but now my install has reverted to the regular release build.
I was not previously using the SU1 beta and would like to join the test but the beta client doesn’t download.
Was previously using beta on Xbox Series S, cannot leave beta on that console. Trying to download beta on new Xbox Series X, will not download on that console.
I’ve confirmed with our production team that there’s currently a service outage affecting the Xbox Insider Hub. The appropriate support staff are already investigating and working on a solution. When this issue is resolved, access to the MSFS 2024 SU1 beta should resume as normal.
I was using the beta and left because I wasn’t having a good performance, but I decided to go back to the beta and since yesterday I’m not getting it anymore
Now I’m just getting a blank screen. Tried several reboots and nothing is fixing it. Six hours invested in troubleshooting today and zero playing time.
This issue should now be resolved. Xbox players: please post in this thread if you are able to launch the SU1 beta client normally or if you are still having issues.
Please go ahead and close this thread. I automatically got the update when I recently launched the game and now I’m in the beta. It’s still very unstable though and wants to CTD nearly every session, visual regression is also very much there, but oh well, that’s off topic anyway.
