On Microsoft Store updates the Update 1.22.2.0 still not out and I’ve tried a bunch of times to check for updates, sign out of Microsoft Store and Xbox app, reboot, etc. but I never get the update.
HI Did you try a full re install from scratch ? This is what I had to do myself after a full uninstall first.
Now it’s working well.
There are lots of things that can cause this.
This is a checklist that goes through the most common reasons posted here on the forum.
Ensure all addons are removed from the Community folder, and any 3rd party plug-ins such as Navigraph etc., are uninstalled.
Remove any overclocks you have set up.
If you have used the Google map replacement, uninstall it using it’s uninstaller.
Ensure any third party antivirus programs (Avast, AVG, etc) are shut down.
Ensure you have an open path through the Window’s firewall.
Ensure all Windows updates are installed.
Make sure the time and zone in your PC settings are correct.
Sign out of the xbox app on your PC, and shut down Xbox app.
Sign out of MS Store App, and shut down same.
Shut down computer.
Unplug all controllers, except mouse and keyboard.
Restart computer.
Open and sign into Xbox app.
Open and sign into MSStore.
Reboot computer again.
Try sim.
Plug in controllers.
“Ensure all addons are removed from the Community folder, and any 3rd party plug-ins such as Navigraph etc., are uninstalled.”
I do not have any add-on
“Remove any overclocks you have set up.”
I have not overclocks
“If you have used the Google map replacement, uninstall it using it’s uninstaller.”
The map is the original
“Ensure any third party antivirus programs (Avast, AVG, etc) are shut down.”
I only use windows security
“Ensure you have an open path through the Window’s firewall.”
I got it
“Ensure all Windows updates are installed.”
All the updates are installed
“Make sure the time and zone in your PC settings are correct.”
It is right
“Sign out of the xbox app on your PC, and shut down Xbox app.
Sign out of MS Store App, and shut down same.
Shut down computer.
Unplug all controllers, except mouse and keyboard.
Restart computer.
Open and sign into Xbox app.
Open and sign into MSStore.
Reboot computer again.”
All these actions I have done several times
A reinstall from scratch seems rather drastic. It took half a day (with my digital license) to download it the first time. And then to have to upload all the updates… who knows how long that would take. There has to be an easier way.
I’ve had this problem before and then did not have the XBox app installed. You would think that if something were needed that MS or Asobo would include that in the update, not make the community solve the issue.
I’m still in the update loop, with the same file listed above as the culprit. I don’t think if makes much difference which file it just happens to loop on, only that something is now stuck and getting it unstuck is the issue. It is not lost on me that Asobo seems to be silent on this issue.
Any help on this Asobo?
I think that Asobo is not the source of the problem. It’s MICROSOFT who’s managing the downloads of the sim and it’s most likely that their system mixing XBox, PC and Steam does not handle it properly. I’m not a computer specialist at all and all this is only a feeling but I don’t think that Asobo is responsible. Don’t forget that they are working under MS licence and likely to follow MS instructions whatever they’d like to do by themselves. Anyway the point is that for me each time we had a problem I had no choice but to fully re install.
However when you do it, it does re install the very last version i.e this time you’ll get directly the 1.22.2.0 which is the actual one and won’t have to download any other but the WU shown in the contain manager such as Japan, USA and so on. But this does not take too much time.
I’m sorry that I cannot give you any other help but I do beleive that if you keep on the way you are it will be a waste of time.
So far we are a few having done this and we can fly again. This is a brand new sim and a very heavy one. So It’s not amazing to have some bugs but it’ll improve with time for sure. We need a bit of patience I think.
Are there any updates showing to be installed inside the sim Content Manager?
For now I’m going to wait to see if the update skips at some point, it’s the first time this has happened to me with the updates and the truth is that it’s exasperating
I don’t understand you, actually, as I put it, in the content manager it skips the Australia update, but the Microsoft store doesn’t offer me the 1.22.2.0 update, when the Sim starts and searches for updates it doesn’t find anything either.

Nothing
What’s the version you’re on? Press Alt+Enter to go to windowed mode, so you can see the version number
Press Alt+Enter again to go back to full-screen.
Now I’m working, but I think it’s the last one before the Australia update, I think it’s: 1.21.18.0
Edit: Sorry is ![]()
I understood your first post that this is the main problem… because the MS-Store not updates the Game (exe) , the Package-Manager from the Content-Manager let not install you newest content ( in-game ).
I not have the Store version, so I can only guess about… may be you can reset the Store ( wsreset ) ?
He says he did that.
oh… have’nt seen
… thought he tried only re-login…
kind of cache or store issue is only idea I have. What else can a user do if there is no update shown in ms-store
… may be some of these powershell commands can also be helpfull.
That version was from the end of December.
It’s obvious you have been having issues for quite a while.
Is there anything in the Content Manager that says “Uninstalled”
Yes, after the GOTY update I uninstalled a few planes that I didn’t use
Yes, reset the store, clear cache, etc.
