I guess the online traffic is back

I’ve got to imagine it’s difficult to fit in our sim-craft with real life airplanes, especially at a super busy place like KOPF on a holiday weekend. I think there is some magic, insofar that I think they can take a real world airplane and turn it into a simcraft that can be controlled by sim-ATC, but I’m not sure that’s true, and if it is, I’m not sure if, or how well, it works.

I got told to go around twice a few days ago trying to squeeze into KMIA (which I would never do IRL in a GA airplane), once because the guy ahead of me didn’t vacate the RWY fast enough, and the other time because a guy behind me was a lot faster than me and was going to run me over. (And almost did.)

The second time (which was actually the guy still on the runway) I just landed anyway and made sure I didn’t run him over.

I really like the idea of using real world traffic, but they’ve got to figure out how to do spacing better. The guys at the real KMIA might not like my happy a$$ coming there with my little slow Seminole, but IRL they’d figure out a way to make it work. They’d probably rape me on the landing fee, but they’d at least space me properly.

Not that I can afford a Seminole IRL to begin with lol…
