I have always been a PC user.
My PC is now struggling with MSFS and I thought about graphic card upgrades, a better processor etc.
But for $800 AUD, I bought an Xbox Series X and I am blown away by the performance.
I honestly think this is the way to ‘future proof’ your investment in a program/game that is this hungry on resources.
Just a shame I can’t use my $1000’s worth of PC yokes, pedals, throttles etc.
We need someone to come up with an interface so we can use PC controllers on Xbox !

Welcome to the Xbox Family, I also mostly fly on the Xbox and even have an entire setup for it that I can use on both Xbox and PC. I also still fly on PC but very rarely I find it performance wise better on Xbox and more Stable with a couple crashes here and there because of the ongoing memory leak that the Xbox version suffers from since a couple sim updates ago that I hope gets fixed soon. And of course enjoying it on the big screen in beautiful 4k textures makes a world of difference for me. Now I been flight simming since the very first flight simulator back in the 80’s and played every version ever made so I’m spoiled when it comes to modding on PC but I have to say I don’t really miss it that much on Xbox Series X. Modding on PC also brings with it instability because mods can cause lots of issues without knowing which one it is. Anyway enjoy your flights friend.

I did pretty much that same thing. My PC was getting old and it was too expensive and too uncertain really trying to figure how how to upgrade/ build a new PC so I took a chance and just got the XBX and I love it. Sure there are a few concessions one has to make but for my type of flying (mostly solo GA flyer), it does absolutely wonderful. and I suspect that FS24 will be even better. and its very true about the peripherals. I had my joystick I used on my PC but it doesnt work on XBox so I learned how to fly with the controller. I also rewrote the controls a bit and with a wireless mouse and keyboard added, its not much different than my PC experience – except that I have better graphics and smoother performance… and quieter — that XBox is quiet.

Nothing wrong with an Xbox! The reason why I chose the XSX is simplicity! It’s just plug & play!

Welcome aboard. You will find quite a few Xbox simmers on here.
Happy flying!
Hey, so did I and am very happy for the performance and quality on it. I had no problems with controller, because I was using the xbox elite controller with pc.
Using both now, but was bit dissapointed that you have to pay for using multiplayer in xbox.
And yes, it’s nice to sit on sofa and use bigger 4K telly to fly.

Welcome to the club! XSX simmer here too. I almost switched to PC but decided to stick with the Xbox. I have very little issues with the Xbox so spending almost 3k on a PC didn’t make sense, and I’m not keen on fiddling with all kinds of settings on the PC - plug and play is just so convenient. There are some mods I’d really like, such as the Duckworks DC-3, but you can’t have it all I guess.
Since I had the cash burning in my pocket, what I however did do was buy a new 65" OLED TV with a 120 hz panel and VRR, and let me tell you: THAT made a ton of difference! I get 80-100 fps now (according to the TV) and whilst they are not all unique frames of course, it just feels so smoooooth. The menus and world map are running at a constant 120 fps. It’s great!

In the world map settings where you select Multiplayer, ATC,Weather etc do you need to pay to use this multiplayer??? for group flights !!
Yep Join Xbox Game Pass: Discover Your Next Favorite Game | Xbox You need Game Pass Ultimate to get multiplayer on console. It’s not a MSFS limitation, it’s a platform “limitation”. Multiplayer works on free to play games like Fortnite, but yeah, it kind of sucks…
EDIT: Or Xbox Live Gold, which becomes Game Pass Core in September Xbox Game Pass Core | Xbox Multiplayer is free only for free to play games like Fortine, COD Warzone etc.

Not much I guess… Microsoft has definitely built an ecosystem where you are more or less forced to pony up a monthly fee one way or the other. On the other hand they probably still don’t make any profit on the Xbox consoles, so they need to make profits from something else: Game Pass. At the end of the day it’s a business, not charity. Either you accept it, or you don’t
You do get discount on official Microsoft Addons, noticed that lately when I bought one of the legend aircraft.
My problem with Xbox is even on the X you still get a lot of scenery popping in when looking around and on external cams. I don’t have this problem on a pc. It was enough to make me return it.

But that’s not related to Game Pass though. You only get those discounts if you have the Deluxe or Premium Deluxe version of MSFS - which you need to buy of course. MSFS included in Game Pass is the Standard version, so no discounts… As I said, MS will take your money one way or another

Just depends how much or no multiplayer for then.
You can install & play Msfs FOR FREE! (Or, without installing, via the xbox cloud!
I’ve already bought the standard edition then upgraded to premium delux in the summer sale minus £4 with Microsoft credits so a bit of a saving. Didn’t know about game pass cloud. May do a month or two on gamepass to give it a go and take it from there. To late now for anything else.
Game Pass is not free my friend… And cloud gaming is only included in the most expensive Ultimate subscription by the way
