Oh watch out … This might happen

Right there with you and flying right now. The live weather doesn’t seem to actually be depicting the hurricane in its accurate position (According to real radar) so I’m using REX weather to see if it looks better.

Yes, the position of Iota was off by a few hours of movement. I noticed that too. I tried flying to the eye of the storm from San Andres Airport but couldn’t find it using radar. In the sim it was not well defined enough to see (radar). So, I got out and spawned “into” the eye using the World View.

Long term, I would like to see Asobo work on the weather model when it comes to the eye of Hurricanes. The model does not understand how to interpret that massive wall of clouds inside the eye. There isn’t a wall at all. It is just thunderstorms in a circular grouping.

alpenlaender, I did get hit by wind once really hard. I had a right to left 66kt (76mph) wind that instantly went to a 33kt left to right. The plane went nuts! It didn’t flip over but it jerked really hard.

I took a few screen shots while in there. I will post some later on today.

MS/Asobo: I also noticed the model arrows that are being used internally in development to describe to the sim where the wind movement is happening. I didn’t always see these arrows as they came and went. I have seen these arrows in both hurricanes that I have flown in. They are very faint, but discernible.
