I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of drought and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror –
The wide brown land for me!
Post your Australian screenshots here (poetry optional). We’ve all seen the promo screenshots of Sydney and Uluru. But Australia is a vast country, and its just too gobsmacking gorgeous to not share. Pick a random location in Australia, fly to another nearby location. When you are finished pick a couple of your favourite screen captures and show us here. Don’t forget to tell us how to get there so everyone can enjoy it themselves.
Trip - Longreach (YLGA) to Alpha (YAPH), real weather - just take off from Longreach and head east following the highway. Basically a flight from the middle of nowhere, to nextdoor to the middle of nowhere. All rendered by default in MSFS in stunning detail. Beat that XPlane.
Even this remote property (just in front of the aircraft nose)gets the MSFS treatment.
This is not the result of mismatched satellite imagery.
The tiny town of Jericho and its dirt runway faithfully rendered.
Every tree and soil type as we near our destination of Alpha.

2nd day Alpha (YAPH) to Rockhampton YBRK), real weather. Take off and fly east then northeast following the Capricorn Highway. Refuel at Rocky.
The level of realism is absolutely astonishing. Having travelling by road and as a commercial passenger by air over this area many times, I can vouch for the realism produced by MSFS.
Still pretty dry passing Blackwater heading east.
The little tinpot town of Bluff faithfully rendered by MSFS, and a bit of terrain in the background at last.
Approaching the outskirts of Rockhampton
Back to civilisation at last, left downwind at Rockhampton (YBRK), time for some fuel.
Nailed the final approach.
Day 3, Rockhampton (YBRK) to Mackay (YBMK), real weather. Take and head north turn to 300 as you pass the coast. The coastal fringe is a lot greener and is where most Australians live.
Departing Rocky - Looks like I might run into a bit of cloud today.
Having to dodge the clouds to stay VFR
Venturing away from the land over Wild Duck Island. Didn’t see any wild ducks though, you would think Asobo would have some placed at a location with this name.
Hay Point coal facility, means we are getting close to Mackay.
On final for Mackay (YBMK) - clearance given to land after commercial flight ahead.
