After having been on the fence for quite some time now, I made the leap and tried out VATSIM. Needless to say, I was absolutely stoked and can’t imagine flying offline ever again.
I’m still practicing patterns for the time being, but decided to make a video about my experience so far in case anyone would find that helpful! Be sure to check it out

Nice video! How much time did it take you to learn how to fly with Vatsim?
It did take me a bit to read up on vfr phraseology at first and get familiar with patterns, but luckily the web isn’t short on guides about those. And yeah, I also did a few offline patterns beforehand to practice position reports. The rest was more or less to finally try it all out on the network.
I’m a RW pilot so it was easier for me, but once you fly with Vatsim you’ll never want to fly without it again.
Awesome job! I remember my first flight on VATSIM 10 years ago, it was in the Flight Replicas Piper Cub and it was some pattern work. Been flying on the network ever since.
