Brief description of the issue:

I have a new build with the following specs:
SYSTEM SPECS:
ThermalTake 1200 WATT Modular Power
ASUS Z790 PRIME WIFI
CORSAIR 48GB DDR5 7000 RAM
ASUS GeForce RTX 4090 Drvr 545.84
INTEL 13900K CPU
CORSAIR H150i CPU Cooler
Sound Blaster AUDIGY 5RX & Buttkicker
CORSAIR 5000D Case
RealSimGear G1000 SUITE with cockpit panel
Honeycomb ALPHA & BRAVO and Logitech Rudder Pedals
ALESIS Powered Speakers
NEXT LEVEL RACING Cockpit
3X SONY 4k 43" TV’s (5 Screens Total)

My problem is that if I load a Cessna or similar airplane, I am only getting 8FPS in places like San Diego.
I have made hundreds of adjustments per multiple videos and for the life of me, cannot figure out my issue. I am running Windows 11 (Which was a mistake) and have HAGS-ON, using TAA, DX12BETA, VSYNC - OFF etc etc. No matter WHAT I do, I am stuck at about 8-10 FPS no matter where I go.
I have reset the BIOS to default, I am NOT overclocked on the CPU, RAM or GPU. I have NOTHING in my Community Folder. I have had nVidia Control Panel set up with multiple different scenarios / entries to no avail. In DEV MODE, my FPS counter shows CPU maxed but when I pull up TASK MANAGER, It shows ALL CPU’s being used. I cannot figure out my problem. Any help would be awesome. Thank you!

There is the 1st very obvious RED FLAG !!

RealSimGear G1000 SUITE with cockpit panel

is a second one !!

Nice setup. But something is not right. The cpu is not used full at all by MSFS (mostly max 40 procent). It is correct that developer mode in msfs showe’d that the CPU is the bottleneck with a 4090. Sadly MSFS is still not Multitreathed. So try open the windows task manager when MSFS is running en check witch processes are running and have a high cpu use (google that process and if it is not windows end that process…(use CTRL shift en esc key) when MSFS is running. (ALt TAB Switched the screens).
Ps are you sure the monitor is in the correct output (not the motherboard, but your videocard

Hi @RwpTurnip,

Why? I ran all this with a I9-9900K and a 2080ti with no problems

Yes, I have 2 HDMI ports in use and one DP on the 4090. I will check the processes. Stand by!

I am at San Diego in a Cessna. I am getting 9FPS. I am thread locked and the CPU usage shows 8%. RAM / MEMORY show 7600MB. There are only a few others showing usage like EDGE etc.
My GENERAL OPTION settingsd are FULL SCREEN. 3840X2160 Resolution. AA = TAA. Render Scaling is 100. AMD FIDELITY 100. VSYNC - OFF. NVIDIA REFLEX - ON-BOOST. HDR - OFF. Direct X - DX12(BETA). Global Rendering ULTRA.
All TRAFFIC is OFF. SHADER CACHE - EMPTY.
Is my RESOLUTION wrong?

You have put together a potentially very powerful (and expensive) system, and I fully understand your frustration to be getting such poor performance from it.

Well, you have to start somewhere, or just guess and hope you guess right.

You have a complex system

If it were me, I would start by making it as simple as possible, remove all non essential hardware, one monitor, empty community folder, a default Asobo (simple plane), and then start adding back in item, till you find which one is killing your FPS

OK I’m on it. Thanks

How are you driving your 5 displays ? You can only run 3 max on a 4090.

dx12 is a performance killer. turn it off

Maybe in VR not in 2D.

never hurts to try

I am using the 4090 to display 3 43" 4K Sony TV’s. The other two screens are the RealSimGear G1000 Suite which. I have a USB-C port with an adapter attached to 2 HDMI Cables. Those attach to the two G1000 units. ie: 5 Screens total

I would start HWinfo64 and then run Cinebench and see if your score is in the ballpark for your CPU. After that, check the HWInfo64 track and see if any thermal throttling was reported. If your CPU was thermal-throttled during Cinebench, I would re-seat the heatsink.

YEs run cinebench and see what happens. I use HWmonitor (also a free utility, but for me better readable) to see what throttles the CPU. Check that your CPU goes in a correct boost (from 1100 to 5600 etc). Also check the use off max power (CPU 300 watt?) and indeed if thermal throttling happens (max temp 100?). In cinebench throttling happens but in your sim NOT. The new cinebench 24 has also a benchmark for your GPU so check if your 4090 is good. HWmonitor reads out the watts and temp from the GPU also). If something wrong (voltage, boost clockt etc.) cinebench 24 doesnt loop well (hangs) so that is also a good test for your system. I have a 13700K with the corsair H150i and throttling happens (with Cinebench it is normal but not in the beginning). the 13000 series are very HOT. So for a i9 13900 the corsair is on the small side. So check the pump, radiatorfans and water temp with ICUE also. For msfs the cpu get not so hot (80 degrees for me, so it will also cooling the 13900 CPU just enough. (200-250 watt).
Bios on default don’t use the XMP clockspeed from your memory, so your memory is running on default clock not an 7000. But these give only 10% or so more FPS. so set these in the bios XMP on (but only if everything else is okay). It is also good to check if your bios is on the latest version and if not, update your bios to the latest version. It is also worth mentioning that more than 2 memory sticks on a ddr5 board gives many troubles. i assume you have 2 sticks 24 each? and in slot 2 and 4?
