I still see color banding in the sky

I believe people with both HDR and SDR screens have reported this issue.

I can see different bands of blue when panning the camera up from the horizon to the top of the sky.

I don’t remember seeing this when I started playing flight simulator this April. Something is definitely off. The different shades of blue do not blend well together in the sky and this becomes very obvious the higher you are.

No banding in any of my games… The sky or fog. Please resolve this Asobo. Very annoyed and robs away from the experience. The game is gorgeous otherwise.

Thanks for liking… But I need some concrete feedback on this and perhaps know if Asobo is looking into it.

Me too. First I though it had to do with me playing with the Nvidia Coloursettings (in my case mostly contrast and saturation), but no. I utilizes 10-bit colourdepth, so there should be no banding really. DX11 TAA 1440 Native.

Cool.

Good to know it’s not an isolated issue. The blue gradations in the sky used to look so nice, especially at higher altitudes. But one of the updates this year must have ruined it.

According to the other thread you posted in you should know that already.

Also there was this discussion already during beta.

Some moderator shall merge this thread here with the other active one as this has nothing to do with any community support.

Ok thanks.

There’s just something odd about the way the game handles gradients of blues in the sky and oceans. Looks kind of jarring as you go higher.
