I have been using the settings of flightsimulator.blog for quite some time, and have enjoyed a highly smooth simulator with no crashes or stutters, and above all the graphic card works at 40 to 60% max, keeps the temperature low in both CPU and GPU and that is one of best benefits of these settings, which it will extend the life of your graphic card. You keep it working at 100% all the time , eventually it will overheat. If your cooling system is not up to par, it will faill, the same goes for the CPU.
My system is a laptop Lenovo i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz RAM 16.0 GB
GPU nVidia 2070 with Max Q, 8Gb RAM
Windows 11 Pro 22H2 OS build 22621.1413.
I have 32" Acer Monitor running 2560x1440 IPS (Display Port)
24 " Asus Monitor at 1920x1080 IPS connected to the laptop (HDMI).
I use Littlenavmap, and I can drop some of the Garmins glass from the plane into the laptop screen, my frames are constant 30fps.
After you have the system running smooth you can add what you want a bit at the time and see where you stand. That is the purpose of removing scenery and photogrammetry. The same goes for the Community folder, right now I only have Navigraph, a pushback utility. I removed all of the acft mods, because I want to see how good the OEM planes are getting, and also believe that is pretty hard for the authors of all these mods to keep up with the changes of the sim for free, it is a lot of work, and many of them are not updating their models and the actual acft is doing very well in the sim. I have stop using modded acft, custom scenery (never did).
In the sim itself, I have removed all the planes I don’t fly and the scenery I don’use.
MSFS keeps all the files you may need in activities, bush flights, POI, etc and if you decide to see a POI in France and you have removed that package, the sim will ask you if you want to install it.
Another big benefit is that that the sim boots 30% faster. No problems with SU12.
So, I am happy now, only expecting the planes to get better.
This is a change that more people in the forum should embrace and maybe the list of problems that I see everyday get shorter, and for those asking for help at the fisrt glitch, maybe they should do more home work, that is the way I learned.
