It’s been a 3-4 months since I’ve flown over and around the City of London but I just flew over the city today and I was 1000% impressed and surprised to see a normal-looking London!
For anyone who flies over London knows the blobby clay buildings and poor photogramy since forever.
I tried searching online for answers, but to no avail. Was this part of the western Europe 4 update? I didn’t read London was in that update, but something happened for the better.

They didn’t ever tell us it was upgraded but I do think it has looked a lot better in recent months. Or for me it could just be because I switched from series X to PC.
Can’t help but think they’d want to tell us about it if they had spent time improving it?
Not think maybe you’ve been lucky with lower loads on servers/faster connection or something?
I’ll have a look later on. I flew out of there a lot over the past few months and it always looked terrible 
Latley I was getting black screens when I rarely get them hence my avoidance.

Tbh though UK based I generally avoid it since months ago as it always seemed to look bad.
So not seen it for ages, maybe I’ll be surprised.
The Midlands and Scotland look great but the London area looks terrible for sure, especially at low level!!
Although with my out of date Airac on my 737, I rarely make it to the UK from my base in Leipzig 
My brother lives in Scotland. Textures from some regions are very good indeed, but only some. The mesh, in my eyes, is very bad. Especially when you fly VFR. We are waiting for a long time, but nothing changed until know. I think Scotland needs to have good world update and photogrammetry too. It’s such a great countryside, and beautiful cities.

Yeah, someone was working under the radar as the City of London is definitely upgraded. You’ll see a few building pop-in a little but this is NOTHING like it was before. Thanks whoever!
London certainly looks better, many cranes actually look like cranes now.
Far from perfect, though, with bits of modern architecture still peppering the landscape.
You know I do think it looks a bit better. A bit. The distance at which higher LOD models are loaded is still bad but close up it does look more defined now. Not as wonky. Good performance too on my machine.
