The game has been released now for a month and I have to say i have reached the point where I am now genuinely frustrated and dissapointed. I expected bugs and quirks with the game when it was released. For instance, having to press the V/S mode several times for it to enable, some extra ground-effect on the airlines, to even not having live weather in parts of the world. Like all computer programs it takes time to sort out bugs. I even settled for the fact that the 747 was pretty much unflyable. I even accept, that third parties likely would have to spend time modding the game to get it to study level. I have been very patient the last month and I made the best of it enjoying what I could. However, what really upsets me, is that this new patch has absolutely destroyed the airliners. The A320, the B787 and the B747 all are unflyable now. I dont understand why a patch would be released if it was not tested. And the answer is not “we have another patch coming in 10 days”. I paid for the ultra premium edition and I’m not getting what I paid for. Simply put, this is a very bad for Asobo, very bad for Microsoft, and devastating for MSFS. MSFS has transitioned to an enjoyable relaxing way to decompress to a stressful, frustrating, and sad experience. When I play, I don’t know if my autopilot is going to cause me to crash, if the weather will be loaded, if I will have functioning glass cockpit displays, if I will be able to land smoothly on the runway, if I will CTD or oscillate so much that I feel nauseous. This is isn’t fun. This isn’t relaxing. And if I wanted a product where I can just look at 3d buildings and mountains, I can scroll around on Google Maps. I, like everyone else on this forum, just wanted to play with the latest and greatest aircrafts that are flying in the skies. I don’t know when I’ll play this game again, but for now I am stepping away.
I totally agree with your post. Yesterday’s patch seems to have broken more than has been fixed. Will leave MSFS for now until some issues are patched and sorted out.
I agree with your concerns. I had been flying with little to no problems. Today, after update I had a normal taxi, takeoff and was climbing to 22,000 feet in the King Air. The 1000 feet the sim froze and then CTD, no error messages, nothing. I have reported it to Zendesk and maybe we will all see some answers. In the mean time MSFS is unusable.
This is really starting to hurt, future pilots looking for some background on complex jetliners will be disappointed. Kids will think flying is all about jiggling your joystick, this sim was never meant to be taken seriously, its a foolish investment if you ask me.
Well I want to say that this is surprising, but then again, when you rush an alpha out the door the chaotic scramble is inevitable…
I can agree with you.
I know piece of software like this is complex and I expected some bugs and problems up on release.
But this patch make more damage than improvements. I didn’t saw blured ground before patch, now in 3 flights at 3 different locations, ground was blured.
And I don’t know, but it is usual that devs (not only Asobo’s devs) fixing some part of software, mess up another part of software.
It would be like in my job of civil engneer, I fix one part of building or road, but destroy another one at other side of building or fix the roof, but destroy foundation.
Lucky are the ones who have bugs. My Flight Simulator (with bugs) is completely removed and will not download (100gig) again.
Agreed. Especially the 1sec hiccup many now experience every 3-4 seconds is a killer. Unplayable.
My weekend broke.
