Putting this out there in the hope that it might help someone-
I usually download behind my VPN because it never seemed to affect my download speeds (I have very fast internet). But I was dismayed at the abysmal D/L speeds I was experiencing from Asobo’s server trying to D/L the recent update.
I decided to turn OFF my VPN and try again. Immediately my speed went from 9.1 Mbit/s to 114 Mbits/s.
If you have a VPN, stop your download (you won’t lose data, it will simply resume where you left off), get out of the game, turn off your VPN, and try downloading again.

I wasn’t using a VPN, but my download speed sucked. 16 Mbits on a 1 Gbit connection. Took over 5 hours to download.
