If you could only choose one : Just Flight BAe 146 or PMDG 737?

PMDG, I had the 737’s and 777’s in FSX, and am so looking forward to the 737-800 (eventually).
Not a fan of 146 no matter good it is… I like what i like.

All the 737’s from PMDG will come with a Cargo varient (except the 600?).

IF I was to ever buy a study-level jet addon, it would be the 146. The Boeing 737 is about as common in the sky as dirt on the ground. Give me something a bit more unusual. But I refuse to spend half my available flight time programming an airplane, so the most complex aircraft I own are the Twotter and the Kodiak.

Had no intentions in purchasing any of them, but I must admit that all those streams from 737 convinced me to buy it on day one.
Ive spent tons of hours in PMDG 777 back in FSX and now its time to learn how to fly the 737 as Ive never own any payware of her.

Neither are wide body but the BAE146 is a regional jet and the 737 is clearly not. Sure the original design brief for the 737 specified a regional jet but what emerged was a main stream airliner for major carriers.

It is comparing apples and oranges. You may as well say “what do you prefer the c152 or the Kodiak” .

I will probably end up with both, but the 146 is by far the more interesting airplane, to me at least. I have to say though that after a recent development at work, my next study level aircraft will most likely be the HotStart Challenger 650 for XP11 (although I would much rather have it in MSFS).

I have many hours on the FSX QualityWings BAe. Loved the systems depth and behaviour. I’m confident of getting up to speed quickly on the JF version. However, the 737 is an icon.

I will be waiting for user comments on frame rates. That may decide what’s right for me.

Man, that’s a very tough question.

And given the fact that it’s a difficult question with PMDG on one side of the equation… that really shows just how much I’m looking forward to the BAe146!

I will definitely purchase both on the day they are released.

There’s so much to look forward to in each product. The smaller BAe 146 is so unique and will be great for the smaller regional airports that I love to fly into. And the PMDG product line is mesmerizing given their stellar reputation what they’re bringing to the table.

Very exciting times!

It’s a tough question, but in practice I suspect my answer might be determined by VR performance. I suspect the BAe 146 will run fine in VR, the PMDG 737 - that remains to be seen…

This seems like a decent thread for this quesion, what’s the appeal of flying airliners? I like small GA, I can even be okay with the slightly larger turbo props, and fighter planes can be fun, but I just never got the appeal of airliners. It’s like flying a greyhound bus.

PMDG is absolutely excellent in every respect…wise choice

that’s not a bad idea either

PMDG 737 at release, maybe 146 later.

If it was a 737-200 and the BAe 146… I’d be absolutely torn between the two as I’d love to recreate my childhood memories of 737-200 BAe 146 in Rotorua.
But…

It’s only a 737-700 so it’s a easy Ansett NZ flights between Queenstown and Rotorua…

Edit…

OMG…

I’ll definitely be doing Auckland to Wellington VOR flights as well now that the amazing Wellington airport flight beam has been released!!!

BAe 146 100/200/300 and freight configurations all the way for me baby!!!.. Ansett/Qantas/Air nz :heart_eyes::heart_eyes:

I flew the A320NX a lot, and got very bored with it. Very little to do after takeoff and until 200 ft before landing.
I currently fly the CRJ900 right now and love how I have to interact with it the whole way.
I have a similar thought process going on towards the 737-700 (highly automated) and the 146 (hands on).
I think I’d get quickly bored with another A320 type automated airliner.

I’m not instantly buying either since I don’t generally care about airlines, but I’ll probably eventually buy the 146 just because it’s something different. I can fly the zibo 737 in X-Plane if I want, but airliners are boring to me. The Honda Jet (HJet) is supposed to release within a week or two, and that’ll be the only thing I fly for a while. I’ve been patiently awaiting a business jet.

Give me the interiors of a BBJ or whatever version of the 146 that the Royal family used, and it’d be an instant buy from me.

Edit: Apparently the 737 does come with the BBJ variant, so maybe I’ll pick it up too… eventually.

both! And then the Maddog and the Fenix too

Not sure. Will have to watch reviews. I am not much of a long hauler and preffer hops of 20-40 minutes where i can.
So it has to be able to do short hops well.
Also keeping an eye on the MD-80
