Alaska just ordered over 100 MAX-10’s and unveiled a stunning new paint job. I do hope that iFly will release this version at some point, assuming Boeing finally get’s it out in service after all these years, lol.

I’ve definitely noticed issues with overall lateral tracking on this plane (per a couple of my previous posts). I’m confident that this is the reason why this plane doesn’t do well at all with 2X sim speed or beyond.
iFly alluded that the next update will improve LNAV tracking, so I’m hopeful, whenever that comes out (no recent news to my knowledge).
For now I do mostly short flights, i.e. Hawaii island hopping on Southwest.

Flying ENTO to EPKK, taking off soon (currently de-icing). Bank angle selector at max 30 - I’ll see how the iFly behaves.
Bank angle selector shouldn’t affect my flight since I won’t be using HDG or VOR modes, but it might be bugged in iFly. Before takeoff, I’ll set it to 15 and leave it there.
Bank angle selector works correctly in the iFly - it affects Heading and VOR/Loc behavior but not LNAV. In reality, most folks leave it at 25 degrees normally, as that’s roughly the bank angle for a standard rate return around 250kts. I’ll dial it back to 15 or 20 degrees for small vectors… if you’re given a “turn 15 degrees left” type of clearance there’s no need to roll into a 25 degree bank just to immediately start rolling out etc. Also if given a tight or poor vector to intercept final and I’m trying to minimize overshoot for traffic on a parallel approach or something, I’ll bump the selector to 30 degrees in that case. If I want more than that I’ll just fly it myself lol.
Regarding the WASM issues Cpt had, man, that’s a weird one. The plane works fine in 24. I’ve spent many hours not just using it, but testing systems behavior, failure modes, performance on really demanding RNP procedures… edge case stuff. And I’ve never had a single crash, nor have I seen one reported on the team’s Discord. So that sounds like some kind of local conflict with something else… I hate those! Hope you get it figured out.

I completely forgot to report back on how the flight went.
In the end, it was exactly as I suspected - iFly is not bugged. The bank angle selector worked as intended and only had an effect when I switched to HDG, which I needed for vectors. Other than that, it had no impact on the flight. Everything behaved as expected.
